GD,
Thank you for your time and effort on the competition. In view of my desire to transfer to the girls team, I will require you to provide clinical evidence with any refusal of my request....

only joking
SC

Golddog - 11 Jul 2004 22:05 - 8 of 808

storm caller, your request to transfer to the girls team is denied! please remove the lipstick and high heeled shoes at once, and put down the babysham and go back to your guinness.
:-)

Teams will need to start choosing a Team Captain and maybe a second-in-command.

STORMCALLER - 11 Jul 2004 22:43 - 9 of 808

GD,
OK, but it was worth a try, what a gorgeous collection they are, can't wait to get a good thrashing from them!!

In the game that is..

amberjane - 11 Jul 2004 23:33 - 10 of 808

GD, your post 2 - great! :>)

why no aim shares?

Golddog - 11 Jul 2004 23:35 - 11 of 808

amber, yes you can have aim shares, will add that to rules.

amberjane - 11 Jul 2004 23:46 - 12 of 808

oh goody, should be able to lose it faster.....oh sorry, what did you say 're-read the rules, that's not the idea,' OK.

What's that bit about profit...I'll just look that word up then before we start, that's associated with shares it is?

snoball - 12 Jul 2004 09:54 - 13 of 808

I would like to propose Socs for leader of the Gentlemens Club.
In any case I think it should be someone with experience of picking a winning stock occasionally.

stockbunny - 12 Jul 2004 10:09 - 14 of 808

My vote is with Little Woman (for us ladies) as our captain.

amberjane - 12 Jul 2004 13:56 - 15 of 808

Hi Stockbunny, I guess my post above may have 'frightened' you to my trading skills (well you're right!) but I was only jesting, realllly. LW was a little tentative about even having time to play, hence I've taken over FTSE game, but although I havent broken her legs yet (previous joke) I may have to twist her arm. As LW is so busy I would like to second yourself or Hilary as Captain but does anyone want to volunteer? That'll make it easier for us to know who wants to do it. R we going to swap emails to discuss our investment choices?

stockbunny - 12 Jul 2004 14:16 - 16 of 808

No the bunny is sadly too busy with the tea-rooms to take this job on
Amberjane, plus she is extremely impulsive and unpredictable
and would be a bad choice.
Thanks for the thought but lets see if anyone is prepared to take it on
inc. LW - after that if we draw a blank...well I don't know....

amberjane - 12 Jul 2004 15:31 - 17 of 808

OK, understand with all the menus you have to prepare for the T Rooms I wouldnt want the backlash from there if u didnt have time to do diner...

Wait to hear from the others then

little woman - 12 Jul 2004 19:37 - 18 of 808

sorry girls, but I'm very unreliable (forgetful too) at the moment. I can just
about remember to occassionly make a trade and not much else nowadays.....
No time to post properly, just occassionly catch up on reading the odd thread.
(I've hardly had time to visit the traders room in the last few weeks :-( )

optomistic - 12 Jul 2004 19:47 - 19 of 808

Little Woman this is not like you, you have always been reliable and on the ball. I am sure that if you need help some of the girls would be only too pleased to assist, even if it is by email or t/phone. I know that you would only need to ask. All the best
opto

dotel - 12 Jul 2004 21:06 - 20 of 808

Waiting to hear whether Hilary picks up the gauntlet then - she is the oracle on chimneypots, and that's good enough for me.

;)

Golddog - 12 Jul 2004 21:10 - 21 of 808

I'm sure Hilary would make a great Team Captain (especially in high-heeled shoes)

Remember that the job of Team Captain is not really that difficult, there only responsibility is to post their teams stock selections in the first weekend of the game, and then make any trades if any?(one per weekend) for the remaining 9 weeks.

poochies game tips:

Each active team player could have a share of the million fund to put into their choice of stock which they then give to TC.

A team could invest all funds into just 1 or 2 stocks, or a few favs.

you could save some of the funds for a future hot stock.

there is only 10 weeks in the game so choosing a penny share with a large spread might be a no no!
