Traders Thread - Thursday 7th October (TRAD)

Greystone - 07 Oct 2004 06:12

Greystone - 07 Oct 2004 06:13 - 2 of 15

Good morning Traders!

Another quiet day on the reporting front.

I guess the BoE interest rate deliberations will keep the market quiet until noon at least.

BP's announcement late yesterday of an oil strike in a new site in Russia might give them an extra boost this morning.

Crude touched $52.23 in Asia overnight.

Moss Bros Group six months to July pretax profit comes in at 700,000 vs loss 1.8m last time.

Keith Harris, CEO of Seymour Pierce, is considering a financial restructuring of Manchester United. Wants to take it private.

Happy trading!

G.

Morning all.

Still hot on Oil & Gas, and I don't hold PET!

Long may it continue.

Still long SOF breaking even now sometimes, (yawn!!)

acw - 07 Oct 2004 09:41 - 8 of 15

morning,
Am I right in saying GSK will tank big?

Druid2 - 07 Oct 2004 10:03 - 9 of 15

Morning all.

little woman - 07 Oct 2004 13:18 - 10 of 15

Just took a quick look at GSK - can't see any reason for GSK to "tank big"
acw, what makes you say that?

stockbunny - 07 Oct 2004 13:37 - 11 of 15

Nice to see you back Little Woman!
Any views anywhere on HTG? I'm getting nervous, it's risen a long
way over a short period, and could be seen to be over-bought if
I'm reading the chart correctly, which is as Al knows sometimes
debatable!! LOL
Lastly - which way to you all think the DOW will go this PM?

Big Al - 07 Oct 2004 13:58 - 12 of 15

bunny - if you're getting nervous, cash in a few. That's what I do, but the trick is not to be disappointed when it goes up further! ;-) First job is to raise the trailing stop IMO and take it from there. I took a bit out of HTG recently, but don't have any at present.

Dunno if that's helpful or not and I would certainly not comment on your TA abilities!!! ;-)

stockbunny - 07 Oct 2004 14:08 - 13 of 15

Thanks Al!
And don't worry I can comment on my TA abilities (they are naff LOL)
Don't forget to head for the tea-rooms at some point, cos I owe
you a beer for being so nice and diplomatic on the TA. ;>)

Fundamentalist - 07 Oct 2004 15:17 - 14 of 15

acw

with a bit of hindsight - yep looks like GSK is tanking

stockbunny - 07 Oct 2004 15:43 - 15 of 15

Got out of HTG at just a tad over 189p, OK so it
will no doubt go up again but currently bid price down to 185p
so I'm a happy bunny!! :>)
