Greystone - 18 Jan 2005 20:43

Greystone - 18 Jan 2005 20:43 - 2 of 10

Hello traders!

Lots of goodies up for grabs in the morning again...

Somerfield.... Oh dear me!

Austin Reed might surprise...

Boots and Smiths.... Don't do anything for me..

Ted Baker? Now there's a thought. Will TBK do a Monsoon...?

See you in the morning with the news.

Greystone - 19 Jan 2005 06:20 - 3 of 10

Good morning traders!

A brighter session on Wall Street last night took the Dow 70.79 points ahead to 10,628.79. The Nasdaq added 18.13 points at 2,106.04 with the S&P500 11.46 better at 1,195.98.

The idea that stocks may be oversold in the wake of solid earnings reports and encouraging corporate news was enough to shrug off early weakness. This was also enough to keep sellers at bay and close the indices at their highs of the session.

Asian markets are predominantly higher this morning although Tokyo is seeing some profit-taking towards the end of its trading day.

Back with some UK news soon.

Happy trading!

G.
