Big Strike in Guildford! (BOWL)

amberjane - 23 Feb 2005 23:43

Thursday 10th March

New thread as promised! Bowling meeting at the Spectrum alley, Parkway in Guildford. Again will arrive around 7.30 but we must try and start the bowling around 8.30ish as a couple of people had to go and catch trains etc and we hadnt finished last time. Also there is no mobile signal downstairs in the alley so anyone that needs to cancel at the last minute can they try and contact me before I get there so that we dont delay the bowling by waiting. Not trying to be funny just trying to accommodate everyone but I know it's not always possible if something comes up at the last minute!

Those attending already are Amber + 1, Mike, Bones, AdieH, Oggie, Scrippy, Frauke, Adrian, theGov

Well that worked then....starting a new thread :>)

Many moons ago Little Woman started a book borrowing service so can i just ask that if anyone is coming to the bowling that still has a book out can they bring it along and anyone not coming that still has one please let me know the title so we check and update the list. I will also find a new venue and have the next meeting, planned for mid April, in a pub as i appreciate not everyone likes bowling...... but you can still come to the bowling just for a chat!

Regards, Amber

AdieH - 02 Mar 2005 07:28 - 3 of 14

I will be there amberjane...

amberjane - 02 Mar 2005 11:32 - 4 of 14

Cheers Adie, dont suppose you have any books, I have now heard from the 'owner' of most of them and I have only found one....and that's coz I borrowed it! :>)

AdieH - 02 Mar 2005 11:36 - 5 of 14

Im a little lost on the book front??? What book shall I bring, lol...

amberjane - 02 Mar 2005 11:39 - 6 of 14

Anything will do just to make up the numbers...not sure how many he 'lent' out.....as long as it looks like a trading book dont worry about the content....

Bones - 02 Mar 2005 11:48 - 7 of 14

Oi! I heard that :)

I think there were 4:

Mark Douglas - Trading in the zone
John Piper - Can't remember title
The Barlow Clowes story
Alexander Elder - Trading for a living

I went to Hampton Court on Sunday so I've picked up a few ideas about dealing with people who don't return my books. Shall I spell them out........?

amberjane - 02 Mar 2005 19:02 - 8 of 14

No good spelling anything to me, I cant read, probably why I still have 'Trading in the Z' after 3 months and havnt finished it yet!

Now if you use your bullying tactics you will get nowt.....I like to play fair....dirty, but fair!

...and hang on....wasn't it me that mentioned them to begin with!!!!

Bones - 02 Mar 2005 19:36 - 9 of 14

AmberJ - I'm sure some negotiation can be arranged.....!

amberjane - 09 Mar 2005 16:26 - 10 of 14

No rush Amber, I only said the books were mine. Your punishment for lateness can be overlooked.....if you want.

amberjane - 10 Mar 2005 01:43 - 12 of 14

Oh Thank God for that....look at the time and Im still reading so I can stop now!!!! ...and no!

amberjane - 11 Mar 2005 17:36 - 13 of 14
