Traders Thread - Thursday 10th March (TRAD)

Greystone - 09 Mar 2005 22:35

Greystone - 09 Mar 2005 22:51 - 2 of 11

Hello traders!

In the US tonight, inflation fears fueled by higher oil prices, a surge in bond yields and more talk of interest rate increases by the Federal Reserve sent blue chips into a triple-digit swan dive, their third straight day of losses.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 107 points at 10,805.62, while the S&P500 fell 12.42 points to 1,207.01. The Nasdaq Composite ended the day down 12.26 points at 2,061.29.

Doesn't bode well for morning, but we'll see..... :-)

Good morning traders!

I'm afraid the Asian markets have all followed Wall Street's lead and dived. In Tokyo, the Nikkei has just closed down 101.78 points at 11,864.91.

Off to find some UK news.....

Happy trading!
