PROBLEM MoneyAM Security Certificate EXPIRED

apple - 10 Mar 2005 10:15

The Security Certificate for MoneyAM EXPIRED on 9th March.

This means that the login page can't get through Norton Firewall.

The only way I can log in is to use a PC without a firewall.

Please fix this.

Mungo - 10 Mar 2005 10:27 - 2 of 43

i have a norton firewall and it works ok for me

Hello,

Our security certificate has not expired.

It expires on the 9th March 2006 (we switched secure certs yesterday)

Norton Firewall says it has expired & won't allow the login page through.

Your change has caused the problem.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 10 Mar 2005 10:33 - 5 of 43

apple,

Then you'll need to contact Norton.

If it works fine with the firewall off, without an EXPIRED warnings in IE/Mozilla then the security certificate is valid.

What version of Norton are you running?

Norton Internet Security 2002, but it is kept up to date with Norton Live Update.

It just shows how a simple change such as your security certificate can bring the down the house of cards that windows is.

What a pain in the neck!

apple,

Every now and again a company expires their signing certificate. Verisign did it last year.

As a result, anything that has that signing cert to check for valid SSL certs was suddenly saying they weren't valid.

I would imagine taht something like this is happening with your Norton 2002.

Upgrade to 2005, it's a good product (I use it on my windows machines) :)

When I log on I get a warning I'm being redirected? Only just started doing this. Is this my end or yours.

mickeyskint,

Where were you going before you were asked to login? (Traders' room?)

It is when I first log on in the morning from standby and first go on line. I get to the log in page and as soon as I click log in, up it comes. I get a choice of do I want to continue or not. If I click not then I go around in circles and won't let me continue untill I agree. It also says something about information being shared.

Apple - my norton version is 2002 and it's fully up to date and
all the settings are at 'high' but i'm still getting in and out
of the site without any problems. Have you accidently blocked
a cookie or something?

daves dazzlers - 10 Mar 2005 13:41 - 13 of 43

Have got the problem myself,,,whoops, but i have switched the date back a year,,naughty boy david.

mickeyskint,

Can you please let me know exactly what the error says please? It'll help me diagnose what's wrong.

Thanks,
J.

What a hassle!

1.
Windows 2k Pro Reinstalled with all its updates.

The problem now is that I get The page cannot be displayed etc etc...
http://www.moneyam.com/action/user/login

So
2.
Norton Innternet Security installed with live update done.
Still won't display login page.

3.
Turned off Firewall
Still won't display login page.

4.
Installed latest updates for IE6.
Still won't display login page.

5.
Installed FIREFOX
Can now login BUT
Very slow.

Perhaps you changed more than the security certificate yesterday.
What have you done?

I need to use IE6 because FireFox is not compatible with some of my plugins.
BUT can't log in with IE6, The page cannot be displayed etc.

An old PC running Win98 is ok but alerts me to the fact that the security cert expired but adapts itself to the new one & lets me log in.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Mar 2005 16:33 - 17 of 43

apple,

All that has changed is a described by JT above. I run win 98 with norton from home on a dial up with IE 6 and have no problems accessing (in fact I m at home as we speak)

I am not sure what to suggest beyond what you have already done, but rest assured I will speak with JT first thing in the morning 7.30am to see whether he can offer some advice.

It may be worth while deleting your temp internet files just incase it is a cache page.

For the record, I have the same problem - unable to access Stockwatch, etc.
Strangely, some Mam pages say I am logged in, some say I am not logged in. I am unable to log in or out.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Mar 2005 16:41 - 19 of 43

apple,

Just another thought, can you go into Norton and set MoneyAM a a trusted site please? You may have already done this but thought I would suggest it anyway

edgarssonian,

This is a different issue - your problem is caused by a cookie setting.

Please click on tools at the top of explorer and then click on internet options. Once there click on Privacy, and then on advanced.

Here click in the box next to override automatic cookie handling - this will open the rest of the options up - at the bottom, make sure there is a tick in the box next to always allow session cookies.

Ok this and then restart your pc and this should solve your problem. If you still have an issue, E mail me ian@moneyam.com
