Sarantel picking up buyers (SLG)

maddoctor - 14 Mar 2005 10:27

Sarantel the antenna company on the rise for the first time this morning sincce the float. In for a small amount to see what transpires

maddoctor - 14 Mar 2005 14:56 - 2 of 28

just ticked up again

gallick - 14 Mar 2005 22:56 - 3 of 28

I've had a dart at this one. Got in too early it would seem, since it has been falling until today. I see a director bought in at 110p, possibly to back the float. However I think when the market puts this on its radar screen and works out how profitable it will be, it could soar.

gallick , surprised that after all the publicity more people are not interested but just moved up again

matthewm - 15 Mar 2005 08:46 - 5 of 28

Bought into this one following the mention in last weeks Shares mag. In profit already and quite confident.

barretec - 15 Mar 2005 12:10 - 6 of 28

maybe some news on the horizon

Mr Mole - 21 Jul 2005 10:59 - 7 of 28

This thread's gone a bit quiet!! Any holders in SLG out there? Just bought in to them after today's announcement that their new machinery is up and running. Quite fancied the company after the write up in SHARES all those months ago. Wasn't able to invest at the time (and a good move in hindsight). The shares have been pretty unloved by investors and drifted (boredom perhaops) to 50% of their placing price. Think the future looks rosy.

Any thoughts anyone??

belisce6 - 21 Jul 2005 12:17 - 8 of 28

yeah.....i been in for a while, but at a relatively higher price........
didn't do enough research beforehand, to realise that the issue price was deemed by some quarters to be a little excessive (-something to learn from).......
although there does seem to be a decent chance for these guys to sell loads of their antennae.......so am waiting for the happy days, whenever that may be.

their tie-up with TomTom seems quite good; as i keep coming across the Tomtom gps everywhere.........and the US requirement (which i read about somewhere - may have been from SLG itself), that all new mobiles must have a gps device within, so that emergency calls (911 etc) can be located when appropriate; will also potentially bring them business........must wait and see.....

Mr Mole - 01 Sep 2005 09:33 - 9 of 28

Two days of rises on very low volume. Any news out there?

Mr Mole - 05 Sep 2005 14:02 - 10 of 28

Up three days on the trot....great rise today. Must be some news coming.

belisce6 - 05 Sep 2005 14:31 - 11 of 28

didn't you see the RNS this morning, bout the single biggest contract win for the co. ??

Mr Mole - 05 Sep 2005 17:41 - 12 of 28

No missed it...didn't see the N symbol. Thanks... I'll check it out.

About Sarantel

Sarantel designs, manufactures and sells patented, ceramic, filtering antennas
for use in portable wireless devices such as PDAs, laptops and 3G mobile
devices. Its current focus is on producing antennas for the GPS market which
allow a clearer signal than conventional antennas whilst reducing the amount of
energy absorbed by the head by approximately 90 per cent. The antennas simplify
system design, thus allowing design standardisation and reduced time to market
and cost for manufacturers.

As well as GPS, Sarantel's antennas are designed to service Wi-Fi, 3G and
Bluetooth platforms which are expected to be a key element in the future success
of mobile network operators and device manufacturers. Sarantel's antennas can
significantly increase the range and effective bandwidth of Wi-Fi devices and
Sarantel is planning to commence high volume delivery of its antennas into the
satellite radio market within the next 12 months.

Sarantel listed on AIM, a market operated by the London Stock Exchange, on 2nd
March 2005 at an issue price of 82p. Sarantel is included in the IT Hardware
sector (93) within the Telecommunications equipment sub-sector (938) and has a
RIC code of SLG.L

any idea why the sudden interest in this stock?

Mr Mole - 19 Sep 2005 13:03 - 15 of 28

Probably because I've just sold!!.........LOL............strong order book, makes stuff that people want, cheap at the moment....

phil.b - 19 Sep 2005 14:04 - 16 of 28

This company looks to be heading in the right direction and with the huge increase in production and five fold increase in order book (even before winning thier largest ever order) I'm expecting a upbeat trading statement (due early Oct) and a return to previous high's in the next couple of months.

belisce6 - 12 Oct 2005 00:48 - 17 of 28

we are due the trading statement any time soon now - tis getting close to mid-october almost.....

Mr Mole - 12 Oct 2005 09:39 - 18 of 28

What's happened this morning??

belisce6 - 12 Oct 2005 13:31 - 19 of 28

..has to do with the anticipated losses getting bigger but being less than 5.6mill quid...

..so from interim to finals will be; turnover increase x 3, but loss increase to just over double...

would like to know if the costs will stabilise at all, and at what level.....so that can work out when profits will be reached (seeing that they are confident that turnover will keep increasing in 2006, at rates it has done so in 2005).......

gallick - 12 Oct 2005 17:23 - 20 of 28

Shows how savage the market can be!! Glad I only have a small amount invested but still v painful.

Mr Mole - 12 Oct 2005 18:04 - 21 of 28

I spent a bit of time in SLG, although I've since sold, buy keep an eye on them. Think they still have a bright future..full order books, and as I've said before, make stuff that people want. Their delay in setting up vital machinery has affected profits/turnover. They've got lots of cash on the books.

Was the fall a bit overdone do you think?
