Traders Thread - Tuesday 15th March (TRAD)

Greystone - 14 Mar 2005 21:01

Greystone - 14 Mar 2005 21:02 - 2 of 4

Hello traders!

Heading for the close in the US, stocks were higher in the final half-hour of trading amid a flurry of deals and a new CEO at Disney, but higher oil prices and concern over inflation and rising interest rates kept a cap on gains.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was last up 23 points at 10,798. The Nasdaq Composite was up 7.5 points at 2,049 while the S&P500 rose 5.3 points to 1,205.41.

See you in the morning for another busy day of reporting.

Evening Greystone.

Greystone - 15 Mar 2005 06:23 - 4 of 4

Good morning traders!

In the US last night, late buying, prompted by breaking biotech news and falling bond yields countered higher oil prices.

The Dow closed 30.15 ahead at 10,804.51 with the Nasdaq up 9.44 at 2,051.04 and the S&P500 6.75 better at 1,206.83.

In Asia this morning, the Nikkei has closed down 29.16 points at 11,821.09 and he Hang Seng is showing a triple-digit loss at the moment.

Off to find some UK news....

Happy trading!

G.
