WHAT IS GOING ON? (MDY)

sockinafootsie - 13 Apr 2005 14:08

Don't just sit there, have a look at Medisys? With all these buys .... ... the price should be rapidly going north very soon!

hangon - 19 Apr 2005 10:45 - 2 of 12

Well, Buy some more before the sp rises....if you feel lucky..........and come to the AGM to ..."breathe the feel"
This isn't the first time MDY has visited 3p -although it feels more permanent right now, but there's hope, as always.

hangon - 27 Apr 2005 17:30 - 3 of 12

In contrast to MoneyAM's stance (here)........I 'd like to say how the AGM went for me. Having just bought some shares I was disapointed the sp fell on the ann about trading, but let's be clear the USD is against the turnover and profits may be some time away. The Board is promoting their existing product lines in US, Europe and India (where diabetes is rife). We shall have to wait for any sales until later in the year. The safety needle business is stopped as far as their hopes in US are concerned - the US Legislation just isn't robust enough making any "safety" issue unimportant and costly to MDY. Vague assurances were given that the tooling would be maintained should the US market warrant re-entry but obviously this is not bankable.
For the second year IMHO retail shareholders were ubhappy with at least one aspect of the rewaqrds to one or more directors, particularly Mr Wong; however, it seems difficult to change this unless Institutions get restless and there is the spectre that he could vote with his feet leaving the company in the hands of the other Directors.
Some robustness was demonstrated by non-exec directors but as usual it is difficult for shareholders to appreciate their input/worth, maybe a shot has been placed "across bows".
The sp says it all - it is now "much un-loved" and many shareholders are still nursing wounds from much higher. Realistically IMHO the business is better (=now), than before the needle-business was stopped - at least a cash-hungry division is removed. The other products would seem to be running satisfactorily, although the Ann today does warn of difficulty ahead. If the non-US business will contribute to turnover ASAP then 2005 might be a turning point, only history will tell. I am prepared to give this stock a little more time and for those that have a high sp it would be wise to average down asap: For once Good News is released the sp will not remain at this bargain level.
- One may be reasonably assured that the problems with MDY are due to Company + shareholder over-excitement in anticipation of an unknown Market and not recklessness, fraud or anything close - it's IMHO but that said, = better to be in MDY than many co's that we all know who should have known better and have trashed their investors trust, by going belly-up. Stopping their needle-division was a brave-but-obvious step, once the facts were known and understood.
One to watch.

hangon - 22 Jun 2005 01:18 - 4 of 12

great % rise today - on eht ebasis that the US Legals have found favour with MDY - so there may be some money comming their way and now we know there is no risk "the other way" - except we knew that - MDY kept telling us like it was.
Anyhow the sp is nearly 33% up on my recent purchase, but in reality we have to be looking for a resumption of over 10p, which gives some strength to their US marketing hopes.
Don't hold your breath, other than related good (legal ) news, for the time being.

sockinafootsie - 14 Jul 2005 09:40 - 5 of 12

YES I SUSPECTED SOMETHING MUST BE COMING UP. GREAT TO SEE A DEAL WITH MENARI, AND SP UP 24% TODAY AS WE SPEAK!

sockinafootsie - 14 Jul 2005 10:50 - 6 of 12

I SEE THAT THE SP ROSE 36.68% AROUND 08.15AM. HANG ON IN THERE; WELL WORTH THE WAIT

fahud - 14 Jul 2005 10:51 - 7 of 12

Hi sockinafootsie

Glad to see the SP rise, do you know what deal is around the corner?

driver - 15 Jul 2005 12:50 - 8 of 12

Got in on these today, they have been on my watch list since 15p. I now think they are on the road to recovery and a more sensible sp over the coming months.

moneyman - 15 Jul 2005 19:14 - 9 of 12

I think we will see a continued rise over the comming months. Good recovery play after the recent deal announcements.

sockinafootsie - 02 Aug 2005 09:17 - 10 of 12

ONWARD AND UPWARD !!!!! GO MDY

hangon - 24 Apr 2006 16:45 - 11 of 12

We know now that all that was MDY was a house of cards and now the wind of change has come too close it all falls down.
Mr Wong should be booted out as I always had the feeling that he was the MDY "Mr Big" and considered the co to be his, with investors a sideline activity.
/
Now we hear they may move to AIM and form an investment company - but wait a bit - the City won't look at an AIM vehicle and I wonder how many of the (private investors), will be too keen to start this gamble all over again..........you can bet thqt there will be a 10:1 consolidation to kick-start the sp towards 30p and that means some investors will lose out those odd fractions.
/
Anyone going to the EGM should have a voice of an ACTION Group....and suggest that
1) the company disposes of Mr Wong, immediately without compensation (the rise in sp will improve his own holding in a trust fund, so it's no real loss, eh?
2) the company committs to sataying on the main market for a further two years until the nature and skills of the new management can be assessed ( we don't want to be over-invested in another dud management in a failing medico business, do we?
3) the company offers a good package to a new CEO based upon performance as seen by investors, say one year ago (so about 7p, let's say)......the current sp is artificially low as PI's have been scarred into selling......and the uncertainty of the product range (esp no New products for years).....by all means this new CEO needs investment experience and so we don't want to see the likes of anyone from many of the VCT's that rely upon the 20% tax rebate to make out they are doing a good job.
The management of an investment company needs eyes on balls, but once the investment is made the role becomes less onerous and the salary should reflect this.....base the reward on what shareholders get is a far better scheme.
Anyone starting an ACTION Group........?

RE. Anyone starting an ACTION Group........?
