Concerned The market at the moment

collyt - 17 Apr 2005 11:04

Hi All,

read this on another board.

The markets are turning increasingly negative The DOW is now 8% of its peak of a couple of months ago and fell heavily yesterday. The FTSE 100 is off its peak. We are entering what is traditionally a stagnant period of the year for shares and all the news potents appear to be negative (economies slowing, interest rate/inflation worries, budget/trade deficits, dollar value etc). Minder has posted some good stuff on the US deficits and the Peter Bennett articles for the last 18 months have been bearish (suspect PB is usually right with the overall strategy but his timing can be wrong).

As this is a really good board, I wondered if anyone has any views on what is happening in the market.Shares seem to be taking a bashing, with the American economy and all that, do you think good shares will ride the storm? it would be nice to hear some positive feedback, as so far not much good news around.

Colly
