Hello traders!

US stocks rose today as technology share climbed amid news of a $3.4bn deal for Adobe Systems to buy Macromedia but blue chip gains were hampered by disappointment over 3M's Q1.

Good morning traders!

US stocks ended a roller coaster session mixed last night with news of Adobe Systems' $3.4bn buy of Macromedia giving technology a boost but blue chip performance hampered by disappointment over 3M's Q1 sales.

The Dow ended the day down 16.26 points at 10,071.25, bouncing off an intraday low of 10,020, but still closing lower for the fourth consecutive session.

The Nasdaq Composite, halted the falls, closing up 4.77 points at 1,912.92 and the S&P500 added 3.36 points at 1,145.98.

In Asia this morning markets are brighter too, with both the Nikkei and the Hang Seng showing triple-digit gains so far....

Back soon with UK breaking news....

Happy trading!
