Take a look and please let me know what you guys think

skyhigh - 03 Jun 2005 08:43 - 2 of 37

It's a good bet. I'm in at 10.5p from earlier this yr. currently trading at bottom of it's normal range.. bound to go up anyway.. may buy some more at these levels.
For IQE to make profits this fin yr someting special has to happen. It will get there but maybe take a little longer.. we'll see. (imho)

Peeyam, IQE should start to rise in my opinion, because like most AIM stock it's been over sold, and @ 7.25p mid price to me looks cheap. So around 10p... thats my opinion too. regards goal.

IQE upbeat at wireless growth

Welsh epitaxial wafer company IQE has issued an upbeat trading statement, indicating revenues for the first half of 2005 are substantially up.

The firm said unaudited Q1 2005 revenues are up over 15 per cent compared to Q1 a year ago. This represents the second consecutive quarter of significant revenue growth since Q3/2004, and we expect this sequential growth to continue, said the firm.

IQE has been fighting losses for a number of years but won a significant outsource agreement in November last year, worth $25m over two years. The firm is forecasting substantially reduced losses for the interim period of 2005, to be announced in mid-August.

Major milestones towards developing a strained silicon-on-insulator product for the 65nm node will be reached in the next few months, said IQE.

Goal - can you confirm that your posting is information from the 25th May AGM release ? If so, your posting is mis-leading as we have all this "old" (although encouraging) news.

Your posting suggests that it's new info. released yesterday 3rd June - mis-leading ?

RHPS have dropped IQE from their watch list as they think that to make a profit for the full yr they have a lot to do in the 2nd half... I tend to agree with them unless IQE can do something spectacular in the coming 6/7 months.. However, I still think they will come good even if they disappoint this yr. I'm staying in!

Skyhigh, the article came from this mag,http://tinyurl.com/8q9a3 it looks like old news to me,I wanted to put IQE website on the thread for people to do there research, but the hole article came up. As you can see the date is correct. regards goal.

skyhigh - 04 Jun 2005 15:40 - 7 of 37

goal,,, thanks for the confirmation looks like it was the "old" news from a couple of weeks ago. Never the less it's all good/ additional publicity.. can only be good... lets hope IQE can do the business. It's a tall order so need to be realistic.

Looks like it's trading between 6p & 10p at the moment, it has a more up side than down in my opinion.html>

EVO Buy note released following the trading statement. 15p target price.

Overall revenue performance in the year to date indicates that H1 2005 will be well ahead of both H1 and H2 in the prior year. The growth rate highlighted is consistent with our forecasts. This suggests the company is on track to meet our FY2005 25.4m revenue forecast, which assumes an acceleration in revenue in H2 this year.

Cash outflow in H1 will exceed EBITDA losses due to some scheduled debt repayments, inventory build-up to meet increasing demand from the outsourcing contract signed in November, and capex at Wafer Technologies. Cash balances are in line with management budgets. Management still anticipate the business to be cash generative on a monthly basis during the second half. Again this is in line with our forecasts.

IQE Inc has performed very well in the year to date. This is despite some routine equipment maintenance that has somewhat limited output so far this year. As a result management is confident of accelerating revenues further through the second half.

IQE Europe has shown a solid performance and recent indications of increasing demand for VCSEL and high power DVD products provide optimism for significant revenue growth in H2 2005.

IQE Silicon has shown substantial revenue growth from a low base and is seeing building demand through the remainder of the year.

Wafer Technology has performed slightly below expectations due to unfavourable conditions in the LED market place however progress in the qualification process with a number of customers in the higher margin laser markets bodes well for a pick up in the second half of the year.

We maintain our forecasts unchanged and reiterate our Buy recommendation.

Price/Target: 7p/15p

ramu - 05 Jun 2005 21:39 - 11 of 37

I held this share for more than a year, constantly averaging down and eventually sold at 10.65p in January this year at a very small profit. I agree with most of the posters that this share is oversold like many other AIM stocks. The financials are not great but this share can easily touch 10 - 12p on positive newsflow. Also, one has to watch the spread - the bid price doesn't always move in tandem with the offer price especially on the ascend when the spread can be almost 20%.

This may be a good time to get in but when bottom fishing, investors usually find there are many other AIM stocks with better financials and more potential. DYOR and good luck to all.

moneyman - 12 Jun 2005 21:53 - 12 of 37

Well it's starting to move back up.
