Bunny - I was going to answer your post earlier this morning but felt sure that some other camera expert would assist you, so didn't bother. But as you appear to be having no joy, here is my twopenneth worth:
I bought a Konica Minolta Dimage X60 from fotosense.co.uk. This is a 5MPixel camera with both optical (3X) and digital (4X) zoom. It looks like it has too many buttons, but believe me it is easy to use (literally point and shoot). I got it because I liked the size of its LCD screen (2.5") which is one of the largest I've ever seen for a camera of this size. Because the LCD screen takes up most of the space at the back of the camera, there is no room for a view finder so you compose your picture simply by looking at the view on the LCD screen. The optical zoom is novel too. Instead of a lens moving out of the body of the camera, the lens moves horizontally inside the camera and the image is collected via a prism.
The camera is quite small and very light and looks very cool.
So, bottom line. How much does it cost. Fotosense are doing it for 170 (which was the cheapest I could find about a month ago). But better still, look at their bundles. I got the camera, 256Mb memory card, spare battery, battery charger, small tripod and carrying case all for 220 and was well impressed. Delivery was also prompt.
This is the first digital camera that I have owned, but I am well impressed by it. Hope this helps.
