(OFEX Listed). Warning not for widows and orphans.
Market Cap Circa 650,000, SP 10.25p.
Ashpool Telecolm as been a dog of a stock since the days of the Dot Com Era, but just lately that as all changed and the company as prudently with sound management backing, broken into profit for the year. Its biggest attraction is its VOIP Software Business, but this company is certainly not a one trick pony and boasts a big percentage share in Command TV(23.75%) which can boast shows like the X FACTOR and QUIZMANIA now showing on ITV every evening.
I would have brought this stock to the boards attention a month earlier but a stock overhang was holding the stock SP back. Today that overhang as cleared and it now creates an opportunity to buy into what I beleive will be an excelent growth story (the stock looks way undervalued and as no debt) with the added benefits of a strong Ofex market with far more liquidity due to more Market Makers.
Please Dyor. Here is the link with the OFEX board.

Tipped by Unqouted.com and this was just after results 16/12/2005.
Ashpool moves into the black
Ashpool Telecom today unveiled a respectable set of full year numbers, turning an interim loss of 37,838 into a full year profit of 41,278 on revenues of 283,724. The dramatically improved performance arrived on the back of an upturn in equipment sales and the increased emphasis on the development of service and support revenues over the course of recent years. An upbeat full year statement, in which head honcho and major shareholder, Neil Newell told investors that he anticipated continued growth in revenue arising from services and support.
Ashpool said today that it anticipated a considerable proportion of its business would be related to Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) products and services. The noises being made by the company are interesting, as VoIP has long been the main factor that behind many investors involvement in the stock. Newell, who is a giant in his industry, is set to unveil further progress in VoIP, using Ashpool's expertise coupled with its existing Softcall and Codacall products and technology to address the demand, ramping up sales and profitability. On the marketing front, it is Ashpool's intention to actively seek sales and marketing partners for its technology. As part of this, the company is working on ways to increase awareness of its technology and capabilities, and to produce packages that can be sold through intermediaries.
Of its investments, Command TV has performed satisfactorily over the past year, having obtained a level of funding sufficient to meet its short-to-medium term needs and having successfully provided services to popular TV shows including the X Factor series and Quizmania. Ashpool continues to both work with and provide technical service to them, and hopes to see significant growth in the company over the coming year. Meanwhile, Click Solutions.net has also recently obtained additional business, at a modest level but anticipated to provide sufficient revenues to meet costs over the coming year.
The bottom line is that prospects are very positive, but, in Neil Newell's own words, "hard work will be required to achieve growth over the coming year". At 9p, this is a company capitalised at just 610,000. It is speculative, but assuming the company can continue to deliver the kind of profits growth unveiled today, then the shares are cheap. "Speculative buy". ENDS.
NB, trades on an annualised P/E of circa 3.

The last company results...........
Ashpool Telecom plc - Final Results
Newstrack Announcement 16/12/2005
ASHPOOL TELECOM PLC
CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST JULY 2005
OPERATING REVIEW
As anticipated, the company made a modest profit over the course of the year,
of GBP41,278 on a turnover of GBP283,724. This is a result of an upturn in
equipment sales and the increased emphasis we have placed on the development of
service and support revenues over the course of recent years.
BOARD CHANGES
There have been no board changes in the year ended 31st July 2005.
OUTLOOK
Over the course of the current financial year, we anticipate continued growth
in revenue arising from services and support. In the year to July 2005, the
bulk of equipment sales were the result of long-term efforts on the
international sales front, and while theses efforts continue we are also
working to add to and enhance recurring revenue streams in order to offset the
natural variability of the equipment sales cycle.
We anticipate that over the coming year, a considerable proportion of our
business will be related to Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) products and
services, and will use our expertise and existing Softcall and Codacall
products and technology to address the this market.
On the marketing front, it is our intention to actively seek sales and
marketing partners for our technology. As part of this, we are working on ways
to increase awareness of our technology and capabilities, and to produce
packages that can be sold through intermediaries.
Of our investments, Command TV has performed satisfactorily over the past year,
having obtained a level of funding sufficient to meet its short-to-medium term
needs and having successfully provided services to popular TV shows including
the X Factor series and Quizmania. We continue to both work with and provide
technical service to them, and hope to see significant growth in the company
over the coming year.
Click Solutions.net Limited has also recently obtained additional business, at
a modest level but anticipated to provide sufficient revenues to meet costs
over the coming year.
Overall, the prospects are generally positive but hard work will be required to
achieve growth over the coming year. It will be my intention to ensure our
efforts at Ashpool result in increased growth and considerably enhanced
shareholder value.

Stake taken by John Byam Shaw Founding member of Command TV & a director buy as well.
John Byam Shaw is the Chairman & principal investor in the WORLD'S first dedicated channel devoted to poker.
An article in April last year points out about the Poker channel:
"Improbably, the channel, with annual running costs budgeted at 1 million, will not offer interactive betting, at least, not directly"
So my thoughts are Ashpool via Command TV might get involved?
He must have bought his stake for a reason?
And the director too?

The Times January 16, 2006
ITV will turn armchairs into hot seats
By Dan Sabbagh
ITV wants to turn viewers into game show contestants after the success of an obscure late-night quiz programme that earned it 1.2 million in its first two weeks.
The idea called ITV Play is to make prize competitions in which the public participate from home a commonplace feature of the daily broadcast schedule. Full details will be announced in the next couple of months.
Charles Allen, chief executive, said: Viewers will be able to play along with shows, answering questions via their mobiles, on the internet or using the red button on the remote control. In time we might develop a dedicated ITV Play channel, but well start by using the brand on ITV1.
The ITV boss has set a target of generating half its revenues from outside ITV1 by 2010 and ITV Play is intended to be a strategy to cut the companys dependence on conventional advertising income on ITV1l.
Profits from ITV1 are under threat because its audience share is declining. Last year, ITV1s share was down from 22.8 per cent to 21.6 per cent.
A final test of the ITV Play concept has been running nightly on ITV1 at about 1am. Quizmania is an interactive game show in which viewers get the chance to win prizes worth up to 5,000. Calls to the programme, which runs for up to three hours, cost 75p.
Mr Allen declined to say how much income Quizmania generated, but a 1.2 million figure has been suggested.
An ITV Play channel would probably have to wait until at least 2007 to launch.

Lifted from another board thanks to P Hippey.
Present p/e (annualised) is just 6 (@ 15.25p)
But this isn't a stock to be valued by p/e alone.
You should take into account the investments
Command TV 23.75% cost 50
Also Evopay has I think been viirtually written off but now appears to have some value
Also you should consider how many further successful investments can be spun out for 50 or 100
They have acheived millions of pounds on these sort of investments before, sadly got interuppted by 9/11 & the telecom bubble, but it looks like green shoots are just starting again.

A tip update from the tips.com stable...
Full steam ahead for Ashpool as overhang clears
We were encouraged today to discover that the overhang that has plagued the shares in Ashpool Telecom had cleared. Furthermore, news that serial entrepreneur and multi-millionaire investor, Justin Bryam Shaw had joined the shareholder list with a buy of 539,548 shares, representing 7.94% of the issued share capital is another plus point. Interest in Ashpool is clearly increasing and with the founder shareholder of the Poker channel taking a stake at the same time as the business ramps up sales, the shares continue to look very cheap indeed.
Recently, Ashpool Telecom unveiled a respectable set of full year numbers, turning an interim loss of 37,838 into a full year profit of 41,278 on revenues of 283,724.
Investors are getting particularly excited about Ashpool's circa 23% stake in Command TV. The business provides services to popular TV shows including the X Factor series and Quizmania. With the Times reporting today that ITV wants to turn viewers into game show contestants following the success of its Quizmania programme, it looks like the future is very bright indeed for Command TV. Ashpool continues to both work with and provide technical service to the company, and hopes to see significant growth over the coming year. Meanwhile, Click Solutions.net, a further business in which Ashpool holds a stake, has also recently obtained additional business, at a modest level but anticipated to provide sufficient revenues to meet costs over the coming year. In short, it all looks very good indeed.
With the overhang now out of the way and with a raft of positive developments in the pipeline, coupled with the general progress that was reported at the full year stage, the share price prospects continue to look very attractive indeed. "Buy".

FremantleMedia scores success with The X Factor
(Thursday, Jan 19, 2006 - 06:00 am)
Televisionpoint.com Team
FremantleMedia Licensing Worldwide, the licensing division of FremantleMedia, one of the largest international creators and producers of programme brands in the world, said that the success of the second series of The X Factor across multiple media platforms including wireless, internet, interactive TV, consumer products and events. The show, which launched in August, was a massive ratings success for ITV, was voted the most popular entertainment programme of 2005 at the National Television Awards and has broken records in the UK for voting and internet downloads.
Capitalising on the success of last year's branded wireless offerings, FLW licensed mobile phone video and non-video content directly to four leading mobile phone networks, Orange, T-Mobile, O2 and 3. These deals granted the networks a package of mobile content rights including video, games and branded wallpapers. Additionally, FLW brokered a deal with ITV which saw The X Factor as the first programme brand to be launched on ITV's Mobile Portal, allowing fans to receive news and to take part in competitions, games and quizzes.
The official The X Factor website, designed by FLW and built by @www, received on average 26,000 visitors per day, with over 2.4 million unique users visiting the site throughout the duration of the series. The website offered mobile phone downloads such as SMS and MMS news and gossip updates, an exclusively created Java game and a mobile phone video portal which allowed viewers to access behind-the-scenes footage and to enter the 'Flex the X' competition. The X Factor message board was the most popular ever associated with any programme that has aired on ITV with an average of 12,000 posts per week during the course of the live shows. Fans can still buy The X Factor merchandise, including branded apparel, mugs and keychains, from the online shop provided by Event Merchandising.
Fans were able to continue interacting with the show 24/7 via interactive TV applications on both Sky digital and NTL digital cable, including the chance to take part in live polls and text their opinions to screen on The Xtra Factor. More than one million entries were registered over the series for the chance to win weekly cash prizes and 'money can't buy' series prizes - a VIP make-over trip to London and a slice of Sharon Osbourne's lifestyle including a shopping trip to the South of France and a sports car.
And even though the second series has now finished, fans can still re-create and enjoy The X Factor experience in their own homes. The X Factor Sing interactive game (Lago Srl) launched on PlayStation 2 and PC in October, while branded karaoke software with a range of DVD and CD and Graphics (Sing To The World) and five karaoke hardware product lines (Acoustic Solutions) also launched last autumn. The X Factor product ranges are available in retail outlets such as Comet, Tesco and Argos: Comet promoted The X Factor products in the run-up to Christmas by providing three branded bays in all 260 stores; Argos offered consumers the chance to win tickets to The X Factor Live Tour 2006 via in-pack promotions, the Argos website, which received three million visits per week in December, and via their December sales flyer.
Madame Tussauds, one of the world's leading visitor attractions, also hosted an interactive attraction in London based on the hit TV show. Fans were invited to take to the specially-created stage and participate in The X Factor experience for themselves in front of waxwork judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh and receive comments on their performance.
An amazing 9.9 million people tuned in to see Shayne Ward walk away with a 1 million Sony BMG recording contract. Over the course of the series, The X Factor rated the highest in its slot for the key commercial demographic (16-34-year-olds), winning a 54% share, an incredible 125% above ITV1's slot average; in total, the series was watched by 40 million people in the UK with a reach of 72%. The Xtra Factor was the highest rated entertainment show on ITV2, beating the slot average by 85% for all individuals. A massive 10.8 million votes were cast during the live finale alone, with SMS, red button and fixed line voting services managed by specialist provider Harvest Media Group (HMG). The task of aggregating all of the vote feeds was effectively managed with HMGs 'Dataconcentrator', which was introduced this year. Mobile Interactive Group's voting platform, 'Votewinner', smashed the high-speed SMS delivery record with over 1,300 messages processed per second.
Dom Wheeler, Vice President, Licensing, UK, FremantleMedia Licensing Worldwide, said: "The second series of The X Factor has been an even bigger success than the first with more fans enjoying even more exciting and innovative ways and platforms to engage with the show. We are really delighted with the uptake of our offerings and the fans' incessant enthusiasm which has helped make the show an unmitigated success all round."
In an exclusive, first of its kind deal, FLW partnered with Syco Music and Sony BMG to make Shayne Ward's debut single, 'That's My Goal', available for download over the internet on the night of The X Factor finale, three days before its retail release. The single, which topped the Christmas charts, was one of the biggest selling singles of 2005 with over one million copies shipped and has entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest selling download in world history with over 100,000 downloads to date.
Nokia, the world leader in mobile communications, was the main on and off-air sponsor of The X Factor for a second consecutive year. The X Factor is produced by Thames Television, one of the UK production companies owned by FremantleMedia and Syco for ITV.
Meanwhile, Fremantle Media, a large international creator and producers of TV shows, has signed up with mobile2win to produce mobile content centred around the show. Mobile2win is a mobile content provider in which Siemens, SoftBank and India-based contest2win have equal stakes.
