US stocks lost ground tonight as a rise in long-term interest rates and weaker-than-expected housing data sparked concern about a slowdown in the economy.
The Dow dropped 2.48 points to 10,709.74, off a morning high of 10,760.57. The Nasdaq Composite was down 4.6 points at 2,260.65 while the S&P500 dipped 2 points to 1,264.68.
In Asia today, the Nikkei closed up 240.02 points at 15,891.02 with the Hang Seng down 12.82 points at 15,507.57.
Oil drifted lower with New York's main contract, light sweet crude for March delivery, down 15 cents at $65.70 a barrel from its close of $65.85 in the US.
I don't have time to trade anymore, but I like the idea of doing really small spreadbets from time to time. Not going to make a lot of money, but it could be "fun" if I'm strict with what I do :-)
This account has a minimum 100 deposit - but does that mean if you go under the 100 (as other accounts), they will close all your positions!
