US stocks rallied in late-day trade, with the Dow posting a triple-digit gain on better-than-expected data. The benchmark index was last up 116 points at 10,825.
The Nasdaq Composite rose 23 points to 2,283 while the S&P500 climbed 11 points to 1,275.
Closing numbers in the US last night saw the Dow close up 99.73 points at 10,809.47 with the Nasdaq 22.35 points better at 2,283.00 and the S&P500 9.15 points higher at 1,273.83.
In Asia today the Nikkei stormed to a five year high, up 569.66 points at 16,460.68. The Hang Seng ended the morning up 195 points at the session's high of 15,715.07.
New York's main oil contract, light sweet crude for March delivery, was up 45 cents at $66.71 usd a barrel, off a high of $66.83. Yesterday in the US the contract closed at $66.26.

Realised how out of the daily "trading" mind set I've got! Just put a short FTSE100 @ 3750(only 1p!) with a 15p stop loss! Although look at the way the market is going It may hit soon! And a long BT.A @ 110 also 1p! If I restrict myself to only 1 or 2 shares a day, when I splash out to 50p a point I may be able to restrict any losses and actually make a little! LOL :-)
