Traders Thread - Tuesday 7th February (TRAD)

Greystone - 06 Feb 2006 21:14

Greystone - 06 Feb 2006 21:15 - 2 of 13

Hello traders!

US stocks ended mixed tonight as rising political tensions in the Middle East made for cautious trading, but Alcoa rose to an 11-month high after broker J.P. Morgan said the company's earnings will benefit from surging aluminum prices.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 4 points to an unofficial close of 10,798. The Nasdaq Composite fell 3.73 points to 2,258 while the S&P500 climbed 1 point to 1,265.

See you in the morning for BP's big day.....

New York's main oil contract, light sweet crude for delivery in March, was down 30 cents at $64.81 a barrel from its close of $65.11 in the US overnight.

Happy trading!

Short FTSE100 and Long DOW,

I have a little (5p a point) long BT still, suppose I should close it and put the 5p elsewhere!
