and above all, do not forget GTL .... by the way neither DOO nor BFC produce ethanol though I hold them both in my portfolio of fossil fuel alternatives

Frank, see post on mne for an excellent long-term investment trust opportunity, these guys have invested heavily in lots of different alternative energies.

ellio - please enlighten me, but i have never been a fan of fund managers and the ilk ..... it seems to me that you are paying quite a lot of money for their expensive offices and commissions, and at the end of the day, do their results as reflected in sp, outperform a bit of judicious self-research and investment ...... I have strong doubts.

If you want ethanol, you need to spell it properly too!

Cynic,
mne are up 50% in last 6 months, that's aint a bad return and they do all the research and to some extent remove some of the risk.

you're right .... not a bad return at all, though it has almost been like shooting rats in a barrel of late ..... but who are MNE anyway?

IMO, GTL are the ones to plump for ..... or at least that's where I have slapped a slab of dosh (as well as DOO and BFC)

Cynic, agree GTL is a matter of tming and they have dissapointed the market big style in the past, if they can demonstrate they are back on track 10p no problem??

Cynic,
DOO and BFC, one hell of a ride, whats your 6 months target on these, are the shares fully valued??? ie future earnings

I try to watch the trend rather than set any particular price targets.
DOO looks to have very good prospects with its jatopha projects starting to bear fruit (sorry!) in India and Saudi during 2007.
BFC is a strange stock, as i also made money shorting them several months ago ..... They now look to be running quite smoothly, but i suspect their financials are still quite dodgy ..... However, there must be some sort of possibility that they will bedocme a t/o target - you will recollect that DOO had a quick sniff around Christmas and did not like the smell!
GTL I have bought at 2.8 (31/3) and 3.75 (28/4), and I just think this is very much right product, right place, right time
