Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Stand by for a Labour government..........

Brussels will “retain all the controls” over swathes of British regulation under the Brexit deal struck by Theresa May, EU negotiators have told member states.

A leaked diplomatic note from a meeting between Commission officials and ambassadors from the EU’s 27 countries reveals how Brussels views the “level playing field” rules signed up to by the prime minister.

“We should be in the best negotiation position for the future relationship. This requires the customs union as the basis of the future relationship,” deputy chief negotiator Sabine Weyand said, according to the note seen by The Times newspaper.

This is a momentous political moment that is forthcoming shortly......quite incredible...!...I'm curious as to how the Irish border is going to work ?......another thing is all we ever hear are : the political consequences of Brexit....who's in or out... for or against....what we the British public are actually going to get doesn't seem to be on the journalist agenda at all it seems !...I'm interested as to what the agreement means to us all...whether some politician agrees or not I don't care...

EL - why should this usher in a labour gov't? ...... hung parliament at the next election is surely the most likely ..... which party will hold the most seats is also a great unknown

even the last poll by the guardian (hardly pro tory) on 13/10 gave the tories a 4 point lead over labour ....... at this stage of a parliament, the numbers should at least be reversed, or even more in favour of the opposition

Here we go again.....like I said ...all that matters it seems is who's in or out.....

Brexit Facts:

The Prime Minister is turning out to be a very disappointing leader. Things started to go wrong for most of us when we heard she had offered to give the EU £39bn of our money in exchange for, well, nothing really.

The Cabinet also seem to be a disappointing lot. They do appear to be nothing much but a down-trodden bunch of 'Yes-Persons' who merely want to keep their cabinet positions at all costs.

rf: I agree.

God help the Tories if there were to be an imminent General Election. They would undoubtedly lose for sure.

EL - the guardian poll, for what it's worth, does not back your view ....... i have no idea what you truly expected any outcome of negotiations to be, but in my opinion, TM has done a pretty good job in almost impossible circumstances

who do you think would have done better? ........ and how?

Stan - 14 Nov 2018 11:54 - 10011 of 12628

As your on Alf can I draw your attention to post 9998.

Fred1new - 14 Nov 2018 12:07 - 10012 of 12628

Just watched Theresa almost choke when saying "the deal" was a "good deal".

MaxK - 14 Nov 2018 12:25 - 10013 of 12628

You can always tell when she is lying, her lips keep moving.

Fred1new - 14 Nov 2018 12:35 - 10014 of 12628

Max,

That seems a very fair summation of the present government!

MaxK - 14 Nov 2018 13:12 - 10015 of 12628

I wont disagree with you there Fred.

2517GEORGE - 14 Nov 2018 13:29 - 10016 of 12628

2517GEORGE - 14 Nov 2018 14:03 - 10019 of 12628

Stanley that's very child like, but one day when you grow up and your IQ is bigger than your shoe size you may post something useful.

Stan - 14 Nov 2018 14:22 - 10020 of 12628

You mean yesterday ?

Stan - 14 Nov 2018 14:35 - 10021 of 12628

Not child like at all just the truth and do cut the snide comments out there’s a good chap.

required field - 14 Nov 2018 14:50 - 10022 of 12628

I'm starting to think that the UK border could turn into some sort of EU illegal immigration "Maginot-line"....if they cannot resolve the Irish problem !...

cynic - 14 Nov 2018 14:55 - 10023 of 12628

if not yesterday, then try 12th or even 11th ........ i only came across it by chance, and not even sure how/where

2517GEORGE - 14 Nov 2018 15:08 - 10024 of 12628

Not snide at all Stanley, just my interpretation of your childish post.
