Dell are quick of the mark - their Specs include Windows 8 Pro 64bit, as of today - Windows® 7 Professional (64 BIT) is a no cost option.

Aye MAM fecked all my settings up too, turning the modem off for twenty minutes was the only answer.

bigwavedave - 23 Oct 2012 09:41 - 10018 of 11003

maga bucks - thank you. I don't have access to that thread but I'm pleased to see that my stockwatch is working again this morning so I assume the Money AM techies have done a fix. My brain is now cooling down :-)

skinny - 23 Oct 2012 09:44 - 10019 of 11003

Doing a bit of browsing when this error message appeared:

Your server is running PHP version 4.4.9 but WordPress 3.3.1 requires at least 5.2.4.

Can anyone translate that into understandable English please?

hilary - 23 Oct 2012 12:59 - 10022 of 11003

WordPress is popular blogging software that powers many websites. PHP is a server-side scripting language used to dynamically build web pages. WordPress uses PHP to deliver its content.

It's my guess that you were trying to visit a blog and the webmaster had tried updating to the latest version of WP, only to find that his webhosts were still running PHP4 on the server.

The Other Kevin - 23 Oct 2012 14:01 - 10023 of 11003

Thanks for that Hilary. I sort of understand. I was actually seeking a list of local IFAs so it was quite easy to look elsewhere.

Balerboy - 26 Oct 2012 15:42 - 10024 of 11003

Had to make an edit to my chart info on 10003. Tried to make new chart for myself and forgot important save tip.,.

skinny - 26 Oct 2012 15:58 - 10025 of 11003

BB - I have a link on my spreadsheet that opens a MAM chart for every stock in the sheet - quite useful.

Balerboy - 26 Oct 2012 16:05 - 10026 of 11003

Can imagine very useful skinny. Notes can be added to run underneath, a chart in notepad too. Also, I started a new 2nd document as 50+ charts can get a bit long and refresh can take a few seconds to happen. GF's thread has that problem as he adds more charts. BB

ahoj - how are you getting on with Windows 8?

greekman - 20 Nov 2012 08:28 - 10028 of 11003

Advise please.

My wife has just bought a Android Tablet and wants to download some films.
Would appreciate if anyone have any tips what sites to use and is it best to buy or rent the films.
We don't want to pirate!

pension271 - 20 Nov 2012 16:39 - 10029 of 11003

I have a Macbook Pro 2008 model.
Recently Apple prompted for an auto update - when I applied OK - it crashed.
Apple Genious advised to take it to a firm in Watford to get it fixed - after two days at it they can access two guest accounts but the main acc admin has gone missing with all the data.
Anyone has similar prob - or can anyone help.
Thks

Haystack - 20 Nov 2012 17:24 - 10030 of 11003

I would search for the problem on Google. That is often a good source of information on bugs.

pension271 - 20 Nov 2012 18:06 - 10031 of 11003

Thks Haystack we already did that before going to Apple - not much help I am afraid.
Thks anyway.

I don't know if this will be of use but it might be worth a try; take a look at this MacRumour page: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1192333

kimoldfield - 20 Nov 2012 19:55 - 10033 of 11003

Are you on OS X Mountain Lion?

Richgit69 - 28 Nov 2012 11:00 - 10034 of 11003

Can anyone recommend a new monitor to work with my PC

looking for make and mode, 24" + full HD dvi, hdmi 2ms
at the moment ive got 3x24" monitors, 2x viewsonics and a 24" BenQ, which looks like its on it way out after only 18 months,

would like a 32"+ or bigger 3D which would mean I could get rid of the BenQ when it breaks

I normally pay £150-250

skinny - 03 Jan 2013 06:48 - 10035 of 11003

I think I'm getting behind the curve!

Ubuntu operating system comes to Android smartphones

The Ubuntu operating system has been adapted to run on smartphones.

The Linux-based software will allow users to run desktop apps on their handsets, allowing them to double for PCs when docked to monitors.

The code will initially be released as a file which can be installed on Samsung's Galaxy Nexus phone, replacing Android.
