How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Nicely done Mr E.
Agree with you that France were good value but didnt trade it prematch. Instead, I scalped France for over 30ticks once they scored and greened up afterwards :-)

Where were you this time a year ago? I was on my way to Scrip's course approaching Aldgate Station on the Circle Line. Spare a thought for those innocent people who didn't have a lucky escape. Edward

Indeed Edward - I remember (from the comfort of my chair) there were concerns for several people who didn't turn up on the course - how quickly a year passes. Life is very short for sure. I shall today remember those who were unfortunate enough to suffer at the hands of those murderers.

I see one of the bombers, a young man aged only 22, left 121,000 (after tax) in his estate.
Hmmm?

"I was on my way to Scrip's course"
A major contrast for me this year, I am on Holiday. But I have unusual memories of last year. Having been in the thick of it, not as in it as Edward, I still feel a little detacted from it all, which is weird. You would have thought the opposite. But I think when you are caught up in these things you just get on with it. It looked much worse when I got home and realised the whole picture.

Think Germany look more threatening and can't see Portugal scoring through Pauleta, currently laying Germany though after a bit of backing on the draw. Will green up soon methinks.

Agree with you that Germany look the more threatening but it's quite an open game considering it's supposed to be a meaningless dead rubber.
Just pulled my stake out at 1.16 and will lay it at a shorter price.
