World cup 2010, What chances for the Home sides and Ireland !. (2010)

required field - 12 Oct 2008 18:43

Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

Dil - 22 Oct 2008 10:32 - 101 of 1154

Lol thats a bit like his misses being nominated for singer of the year.

Treblewide - 22 Oct 2008 11:09 - 102 of 1154

hils to be fair you are a chelsea fan so you have to agree with the numpty (and your credibility was blown by your ashley cole comment..hee hee)

i guess it depends on your point of view...I am first and foremost a scotland fan i am not particularly aligned to 1 club side so they way i look at things is as to what benefits my national side. Lots of foreign players stopping scottish players play at the top level is not an advantage for me...and yes the absolute cream will always rise to the top but you actually need strength in depth not just 1 or 2 superstars....you telling me avergae players like pascal chimbonda, ricardo fuller, daniel cousin, dirk kuyt etc keeping out young english kids is a good thing for the game......it is a stupid argument and one only made by people who are associated with rich clubs that buy foreign shite

also your argument about diets etc is nonsesne at a player's level...i agree there has been foregin input...but it is foreign manager's and coaches who advocate that kind of thing...not players......and drinking before games finished in the 70's.

hilary - 22 Oct 2008 11:36 - 103 of 1154

Only stating facts, Treble, and I see two of your 3 best left backs are nominated too.

Has ChilliBoy picked himself up off the floor yet after I agreed with him?

:o)

Triglets take your point of view one piece at a timeLots of foreign players stopping scottish players play at the top level is not an advantage for me...answerthey are better players..end of story.if Celtic or any other Scottish team played our best teams week in week outit would up their game considerably.teachers pass on their superior knowledge to pupils

and yes the absolute cream will always rise to the top but you actually need strength in depth not just 1 or 2 superstars.answerthe one or two superstars are the teachersit rubs off on those players that have not reached potential!

you telling me avergae players like pascal chimbonda, ricardo fuller, daniel cousin, dirk kuyt etc keeping out young english kids is a good thing for the game.answer.the average players you talk about are mainly playing for average clubsand are there to be replaced by home-growns if good enoughthe exception of the above named is Dirk Kuyt.playing 15 Champion league gamesscoring three goalsand keeping out some of the best players in Liverpoolis not an average playerCeltic your best team would take him tomorrowand would learn from his experiences.
i agree there has been foreign input...but it is foreign manager's and coaches who advocate that kind of thing...not players......and drinking before games finished in the 70's.answer.those foreign managers you talk about.were once foreign players.do you ever think before you talk?and let me remind you of Paul MersonPaul Gascoigne..Joey Barton.finished in the 70s ah?the demise of those three just for starters!
Now do me a favour Trig.have a little think before you tell people anymore rubbishand I mean that in a polite and respectful way.

Treblewide - 22 Oct 2008 11:44 - 105 of 1154

so three players with mental issues? is that the best you have got to suggets the drinking culture is still here?

your first argument you are going off at a tangent...ah feck this...it is too difficult...it is like trying to teach a cow to play the piano........

all the best tabby.......aplogies but my attention span for small children is not long

tabasco - 22 Oct 2008 11:46 - 106 of 1154

And your knowledge is even smaller!

hilary - 22 Oct 2008 11:46 - 107 of 1154

Hey. I can play the piano!

Anything's possible.

Dil - 22 Oct 2008 11:48 - 108 of 1154

I tinkle with my organ everyday.

tabasco - 22 Oct 2008 11:49 - 109 of 1154

And thanks my little jewel of the Nile.did quite knock me backwards. Think Ive ruffled Trig?

tabasco - 22 Oct 2008 11:51 - 110 of 1154

Told you Dil..antelope horn powder

required field - 23 Oct 2008 08:56 - 111 of 1154

If I'm not mistaken : 12 champions league group stage matches played (for the English sides) : none have lost.....not bad overall !.

geordieguy - 23 Oct 2008 09:00 - 112 of 1154

lol, for the english sides......these cockney teams arsenal and chelsea would break into a cold sweat if they got a proper englishman in the team

away the lads

tabasco - 23 Oct 2008 09:22 - 113 of 1154

GoerdieI wouldnt say that if you are ever in the Kings Road areaI rather think John Terry might challenge you on that point.

geordieguy - 23 Oct 2008 10:15 - 114 of 1154

ah ok, last few years lampard and terry......but arsenal were french mainly a few years ago and chelsea were italian, portuguese etc

hilary - 23 Oct 2008 10:19 - 115 of 1154

You forgot to include Joe Cole, Wayne Bridge, Ashley Cole and, up until this summer, Shaun Wright Phillips. With Frankie Lampshade and JT, isn't that around half of the England team?

geordieguy - 23 Oct 2008 10:22 - 116 of 1154

ashley cole has a temper problem........and treats his wife terribly........he's a disgrace of a so-called man.

joe cole is starting puberty.

jt.....didnt he miss that penalty against a proper football team in moscow?

Dil - 23 Oct 2008 10:25 - 117 of 1154

hils , how often do Wayne Bridge and Trashley Cole play together in the same team ... and how often did Phillips ever play ?

tabasco - 23 Oct 2008 10:26 - 118 of 1154

When Geordie was talking about a proper man my little treasure I rather think he was talking about an Englishman that could look after himself.that was why I made the John Terry point.By the way Rio Ferdinand is a Peckham lad that knows how to hold his hands up!

Dil - 23 Oct 2008 10:26 - 119 of 1154

And Joe Cole has three weeks off if he trips over a blade of grass and breaks a boot lace.

tabasco - 23 Oct 2008 10:30 - 120 of 1154

Yehbut he is better looking than you Dil!
