brockman - 23 Jul 2004 14:45 - 10160 of 23498

Afternoon All,
Gonna take you up on that drink Bun Hun, I'm surrounded by flat pack bedroom furniture, which is still after two hours flat.
I need a man :o(

Don't suppose anyone has any tips, re assembling flat pack stuff per chance?

snoball - 23 Jul 2004 15:29 - 10161 of 23498

brockman, read the instructions and look at the diagrams. It often helps unless they have been translated into English by one of the cleaners in the factory.

jeff, 100 ew on Quito please.

brockman - 23 Jul 2004 15:35 - 10162 of 23498

I have snoball, there are no instructions only stoopid diagrams.... gonna take it all back, I'm a "I'll have that, that and that girl" not a "I'll have that, take it home and squib glue on it" girl ;o)

However, if I take it back that does mean I have to hi-jack another man off the street to help put it in the car again ;o)

Hey, maybe I could get a man to help assemble off the street? Not sure if thats a good idea or not!

stockbunny - 23 Jul 2004 15:35 - 10163 of 23498

YUP...Brockman...here's a tip for flat-pack furniture...
use the experience as a learning curve to buy it ready-assembled in
the future (lol) seriously I know what you mean, hence I don't buy the stuff.
The only thing I remember from the Ex-Mr Bunny in such situations was
to keep a hammer close by because a lot of it never
lines up properly and requires 'persuasion' and to throw the instructions to one side and use your own initiative instead, it is more successful (sometimes)
Good Luck with it!!

brockman - 23 Jul 2004 15:38 - 10164 of 23498

Giving it one more try Bun, I've taken the liberty of opening a bottle of Chardonnay, things can only look clearer soon ;o)

stockbunny - 23 Jul 2004 15:43 - 10165 of 23498

Certainly...hic...how many sides to this do you need Brock..hic.man
got 5 here...I think...and 3 legss..I think..or are they stair spindles??
(Never hire a bunny to assemble furniture)
Ahhh sorry in completely silly mood!!

snoball - 23 Jul 2004 15:45 - 10166 of 23498

Don't use the hammer if you want to take it back, brocks.

brockman - 23 Jul 2004 15:46 - 10167 of 23498

Gonna be hiccy soon, oooo, wait, I can see a man, looks handy, yes, really handy.... he lives round the corner, what have I got to lose? Gonna go for it, helpless maiden bit, gulp, here goes!

brockman - 23 Jul 2004 15:48 - 10168 of 23498

Jeez, what does a girl have to do to get her flat pack furniture assembled ;o(

brockman - 23 Jul 2004 15:48 - 10169 of 23498

Jeez, what does a girl have to do to get her flat pack furniture assembled ;o(

brockman - 23 Jul 2004 15:48 - 10170 of 23498

Yes, I have two items of flat pack furniture ;o)

stockbunny - 23 Jul 2004 15:52 - 10171 of 23498

Brockman - You have mail....
Quite right Snoball, a hammer is not wise but neither was my Ex so
enough said (oh dear, really in silly mood, better behave and be quiet)
How are you Snowie anyway??

brockman - 23 Jul 2004 15:54 - 10172 of 23498

Nope, snowie is right, hammer not good enough though, pass me my AK-47 bun!

stockbunny - 23 Jul 2004 15:55 - 10173 of 23498

LOL!!
What are these 'things' anyway???
Please don't say they are wardrobes or anything huge!!!

brockman - 23 Jul 2004 16:00 - 10174 of 23498

Well yes Bun hun, they are really heavy, ok when you buy the buggers there is someone around to load up. When I got home I had to hi-jack a man off the street to carry the things, desperately want to use another word there, in the house! Never done this before, will never do it again!
I've got a wardrobe, a chest and a bedside cabinet, wow, I lucky girlie.
Brocks

stockbunny - 23 Jul 2004 16:03 - 10175 of 23498

Can you ring them and say now you've got them home they are too big for your home and that you haven't assembled them and could you return them??

brockman - 23 Jul 2004 16:06 - 10176 of 23498

Can't I put this down as a write off, the bin men come tomorrow ;o)

optomistic - 23 Jul 2004 16:13 - 10177 of 23498

Afternoon folks, been out for a long walk, well it seemed long so caught a bus back. Good to see you enjoying yourself Brocks, look upon it as being one of those challenges that life throws in front of us occasionally, easy on the chardonnay until it looks similar to how it is supposed to look :-))

stockbunny - 23 Jul 2004 16:15 - 10178 of 23498

Well it's up to you......I remember years ago we tackled a wardrobe and
it was a two person job, because it needed someone to hold the sides
whilst the other one screwed them together..sure no-one can be cornered
to help you? - seems a waste of your time and money but there again
what price sanity when dealing with flat-pack furniture??
(have another bottle of wine my friend...)
