imo, only reason for today's strength is linked to measures that Mr B may introduce in the budget re alternative fuels ..... however, if the company is bankrupt, as to all intents and purposes BFC is, such measures are meaningless ..... anyway, as i sold at prices between 24 and 30 i feel pretty comfortable to stay put

in fact, if you look at the performance of all this type of stock - e.g. DOO and TAN as well as BFC - they are all having good days, obviously for the reason i suggested

Bought in at end of the day. As far as I can see governments are going to try their damnedest to ensure these sort of companies eventually succeed. World governments are giving it environment environment environment, green green green.These companies will be helped in various ways and means by governments, some ways noticeable, some ways behind the scenes, but they will eventually succeed, and like it says in an earlier post , just look at the way Barclays are mopping up the shares.
Britains businessman of the year last year, billionaire Jim Ratcliffe Owner of the 4th largest chemical company in the world INEOS is currently building a biodiesel plant at his petrochemical complex in Grangemouth, now this man is fascinating.
Banks just throw money at him as he has that golden touch. Now if he is investing large amounts of funds into the biodiesel sector, you can bet your bottom dollar there is a lot of money to be made.

Has anybody really done the sums on biodiesel, etc?

We ain't going to be using it in place of black gold in large quantities in our lifetime methinks. At present these companies are being run by rank amateurs and their investment performance shows it. The honey mood period of "that's a good idea" was over a couple of years ago for the likes of BFC and DOO and where are they now? Not in as good shape as they should be is the answer.

So does Renova (RVA) and GTL - both also in bad shape!

I'm sorry, but there are many small companies being run by guys with no business acumen at all IMO. Mind you, being BP it's hardly surprising. I've worked for them and their profligacy at the lower levels is astounding. Money no object and that was when oil was $20

As for takeover, etc, I guess it's possible. But does anyone really think the government is going to bail out an outfit whose current mkt cap is 6.7m? I'm sorry, but those who even contemplate it are pissing in the wind.

Al ..... you and i are in tune on BFC ..... cannot see why anyone should t/o the company and indeed, as documented, DOO took one look at end 2006 (or was it 2005?) and ran .... that said, though i think sp is likely to start tracking back south, am not brave enough to short more - but then nor was i brave enough to short SEO at 3p!

Watch and learn people, the financial reports do not always show the true workings of the company. Barclays is more than aware whats going to happen with this company. Their execs are well in touch with the governments background propaganda manipulators.

noted .... but let's see who is right in say 6 months time, or perhaps a lot sooner than that .... as for the goverment intervening to save them, please tell us from which planet you arrived - clearly it has a much more altruistic (foolish) bunch ruling than here
