WOODIE - 06 Mar 2008 06:06 - 1031 of 1525

Company:
Ultrasis was the first company to offer computerised products based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and interactive multimedia, and is still the world leader in this field. The products help people tackle stress, anxiety and depression, and a full spectrum of related chronic conditions.
The company's flagship product for anxiety and depression, Beating the Blues was developed in collaboration with Dr Judy Proudfoot and her colleagues at the Institute of Psychiatry, London. The product, based on cognitive behavioural therapy, has recently been endorsed by NICE as a clinically and cost effective treatment for mild and moderate depression. This product will have a major impact on the ability of GPs to offer non-pharmaceutical treatments and reduce waiting lists for cognitive behavioural therapy.

Role:
Due to consistent rapid growth they are now recruiting an additional Key Account Manager covering the London/ M4 Corridor and the South West who will be responsible for maximising sales and building relationships with all key NHS stakeholders on territory. Reporting to the National Sales Manager they will also be involved in the implementation and ongoing training programmes for the customer base.

Requirements:
Candidates will have a track record in pharmaceutical sales with experience of working with key NHS customers or key accounts an obvious advantage. This young dynamic company is experiencing dramatic uptake and growth of their portfolio and want talented, committed sales people who see the opportunity to join and grow with the organisation as a real career challenge

Hi all been told by friends in Northern Ireland that some deal has been struct regarding an on line computer programme for assisting in the treatment of Anxiety and depression.
Dont no much about the N Ireland health system but think its the same as England (PCT) so most likely its ULT programme.
Cannot find any supportive News release yet !
Anyone else have any info ?

elbow - 06 Mar 2008 17:08 - 1034 of 1525

Got this from Interactive Investor discussion site on ULT just !

The Northern Health and Social Services Board and the Northern Health and Social Trust are delighted to announce the launch of an online programme aimed at helping people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
Brendan Forde, Project Manager for enhanced Services, Primary Care, Northern Board, said:
We are delighted to support this initiative developed jointly by NHSSB Primary Care and the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. This programme offers sufferers of mild anxiety and depression the opportunity to help them manage their conditions, with support from health professionals as required. We are recommending this programme to GPs in the Board area so they in turn can direct patients to this online tool if clinically appropriate

elbow - 06 Mar 2008 20:45 - 1038 of 1525

Hope so Micky468 !
(Buys today ending with 1m purchase infact only one sell all day).

Regardless have confidence in this one.

Its got that ring to it supported by Government and professionals alike.
I think we may have futher News regarding the West Midlands PCT's i.e Dudley who have recently merged there north and South PCTs and Walsall.

Depression and Anxiety always high here concerning Wolverhampton FC Birmingham FC and the baggies he he !!

mcmahons - 07 Mar 2008 08:21 - 1039 of 1525

So looks like Northern Ireland health system have taken this on board.

elbow - 07 Mar 2008 08:29 - 1040 of 1525

End of financial year is just around the corner we always see PCTs off loading
unspent budgets at this time. If they dont spend it my end of year budget is reduced following. So would expect some spending in this direction.
Also its cost effective with proven measurable results so very likely.

WOODIE - 07 Mar 2008 09:09 - 1041 of 1525

nice rise today so far i weak markets. usa deal must be close now.

maggiebt4 - 07 Mar 2008 09:39 - 1042 of 1525

Northern Health Trust not N.I. There are 5/6 trusts here. Have heard no talk of Btb coming here......yet

elbow - 07 Mar 2008 09:40 - 1043 of 1525

The US deal is done woodie its the update now but we must remember distribution / sales has only been running for the last 2 months or so roughly.
Had a chat to some medical guys I know who are a bit cheesed of with extended evening surgeries for GP.
They recon the only way to deal with increased demands (related to Anxiety stress and depression which is increasing year on year),placed on them and reduce costs is to go down this root. Effective cheaper and proven.
So looks like thats another factor to put in.
Apparently drugs do work but not always and 9 x out of 10 treatments cause more long term damage and cost to PCT.

elbow - 07 Mar 2008 09:55 - 1044 of 1525

Hi maggiet4 when I checked this last night I found 2007 PR was from Northern Ireland just checked address on News release Number: Y57 File Ref: PR/FPU/4.

maggiebt4 - 07 Mar 2008 12:45 - 1048 of 1525

Apologies Elbow, You'd think i'd know my own health boards. Checked and Northern's Ian Paisley's neck of the woods That could account for it. Not anywhere else in NI that I Know of and no talk on local media. If this share doesn't start to motor I'll have to move north and avail myself of the programme!!

mcmahons - 07 Mar 2008 12:52 - 1049 of 1525

god bless the health authorities ! Surprised not to see any mention about Canada yet based on the many visits our lot have made to view good practice. Interesting times.
