I decided to dispense with the television licence, for various reasons including that the BBC has squandered enough of my money on its biased indoctrination etc. etc.
We pay for our television licence by direct debit and received our new licence for 2014 which will expire on 31/12/14 and cancelled the direct debits which would pay in advance for the year 2015.
This morning we have had a letter from TV LICENSING, marked PLEASE RESPOND URGENTLY, headed 'Please set up a new Direct Debit plan'.
'Your bank has let us know that your Direct Debit plan has been cancelled. Unfortunately, this means we can't take payments for your TV Licence.'
What you need to do now.
So that your TV Licence stays valid, please set up a new Direct Debit plan immediately.
Since we have a TV Licence for the whole year, I wonder on what grounds this licence could possibly be invalid. It is my understanding that it has been paid for in advance by direct debit.
