Got this from Interactive Investor discussion site on ULT just !
The Northern Health and Social Services Board and the Northern Health and Social Trust are delighted to announce the launch of an online programme aimed at helping people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
Brendan Forde, Project Manager for enhanced Services, Primary Care, Northern Board, said:
We are delighted to support this initiative developed jointly by NHSSB Primary Care and the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. This programme offers sufferers of mild anxiety and depression the opportunity to help them manage their conditions, with support from health professionals as required. We are recommending this programme to GPs in the Board area so they in turn can direct patients to this online tool if clinically appropriate

End of financial year is just around the corner we always see PCTs off loading
unspent budgets at this time. If they dont spend it my end of year budget is reduced following. So would expect some spending in this direction.
Also its cost effective with proven measurable results so very likely.

The US deal is done woodie its the update now but we must remember distribution / sales has only been running for the last 2 months or so roughly.
Had a chat to some medical guys I know who are a bit cheesed of with extended evening surgeries for GP.
They recon the only way to deal with increased demands (related to Anxiety stress and depression which is increasing year on year),placed on them and reduce costs is to go down this root. Effective cheaper and proven.
So looks like thats another factor to put in.
Apparently drugs do work but not always and 9 x out of 10 treatments cause more long term damage and cost to PCT.

Apologies Elbow, You'd think i'd know my own health boards. Checked and Northern's Ian Paisley's neck of the woods That could account for it. Not anywhere else in NI that I Know of and no talk on local media. If this share doesn't start to motor I'll have to move north and avail myself of the programme!!

This is a bit of joined up thinking, the CEO newsletter is again overdue [14 weeks monday] i know what NB said last time ,for those that have'nt read it i quote."
CEO Newsletter December 2007
I know some of you were expecting this newsletter to come out sometime in November but I just make the point to those who start at every shadow that this is not a formal communication with a firm deadline, but a way of expanding on current or recently announced initiatives and sharing with interested parties further and, hopefully, helpful background. The publication timescale is fairly fluid in that it will be quarterly,___{ but often driven by unfolding events.} In this instance I held back while concluding negotiations with YourCity.MD - It would have been perverse to issue the newsletter a week ago to meet an artificial deadline, only to then announce a new initiative a few days later, about which readers would be keen to have more detailed briefing! Now would it be sensible for him to hold off posting the new Newsletter if he was concluding a deal , this is purely speculation on my part but i believe he would. point 2 with the rise in the sp over the last weeks ,as we know GM has always said that he was trying to get away from the spike and retrace that has happened in the past , so with that in mind and remember that the sp rise was mainly due to RNS releases by the Mgm , can they {NB/GM } allow a retrace!! especially when they have control now over releasing news to drive the sp up . I for one do not believe they can allow the sp to fall ,i expect contract news and good interims .Also remember their jobs are up for grabs in less than a year !! please do your own research!

Dear xxxxxxx,
I am writing in response to your e-mail below which we have previously acknowledged.
The answers to your questions are as follows:
Has Westminster PCT implemented the programme to the areas it serves?
Westminster PCT currently holds one licence for Beating the Blues, which was originally purchased in 2005 and has been renewed on an annual basis. This licence was a pilot development and is implemented in two of our primary care practices.
National targets at this time specify licences should cover 25% of the population, how many licences does the Trust hold?
The PCT is currently planning to increase the number of licences for Beating the Blues from April 2008 as part of wider service developments for people with common mental health problems. This will involve increased access to a range of low-intensity interventions, including Beating the Blues, other Computerised CBT (CCBT) and guided self-help using appropriate books. The PCT expects to meet the target coverage of 25% of the population by April 2008.
Yours sincerely
