Goodevening all - Captain guide reporting.
Just touching base with an update. the last one from me was on the 22sep05. I was on standby for a takeoff last week. However, some finishing touches to the under carriage and hence the delay and also the preparation of a presentation of the SEO flight, advertised by the bigboys, to tell the world that much more is involved other the RF sealing..Will the big boys charter SEO flight 24hrs a day?? We have to wait and see.
For those who believe in SEO, just hang on...not long to go...17-19runway needs to be cleared for the takeoff...sometime after that the inflight show starts.
goodluck all...i have some few people who dislike me. Well cannot please everyone.

Hi All,
"However, some finishing touches to the under carriage and hence the delay"
Maybe referring to refining the Starpol Trays ?
"also the preparation of a presentation of the SEO flight, advertised by the bigboys, to tell the world that much more is involved other the RF sealing"
Wal-Mart to announce they will be using Greenseal and Starpol 2000 ?
"Will the big boys charter SEO flight 24hrs a day??"
Announcement from Wal-Mart in the next day or two ?
"For those who believe in SEO, just hang on...not long to go...17-19runway needs to be cleared for the takeoff...sometime after that the inflight show starts."
Sustainable Packaging Forum, where Wal-Mart and Natureworks are presenting is on 17th to 19th October ?

Over the weekend I had 1 or 2 thoughts / questions that any of you may be able to answer.
1. In terms of recycling is there any benefit (other than material cost) to Starpol if heat sealing is still used rather than RF sealing? Presumably with heat sealing you would have the laminate/glue or whatever in between making the package non recyclable and therefore if Starpol is to be used RF sealing has to be a given to get the benfits?
2. People seem to be concerned at the lack of news in the UK since in the ASDA 200 machine order. One thought is that ASDA were used as a "quiet" route into Walmart and the 12 months exclusivity gives SEO / WM time to set things up there on a big big scale whilst preventing further distractions in the UK.
3. The SEO faithful seem to be excited about the Sustainable Packaging Conference on the 17th-19th Oct. If SEO were not to announce any big deals before, during or immediately after then I think this would be seen as very bad in the short term (although longer term still good). How can we be so confident that this forum will be used to deliver an announcement or some major initatives using SEO's technology. Do Natureworks have anything they may be intending to use with Walmart that does not involve SEO?
Fingers crossed

wakey wakey ..rns out..says it all
"The adoption of Stanelco's GREENSEAL Technology under the ASDA contract
continues to progress in line with expectations, with a number of machines due
to enter commercial operation in the coming weeks. Major steps are also being
made in both Europe and North America towards the commercialisation of a number
of projects, particularly those involving Biotec's materials and Stanelco

Uncross your fingers and relax. Contortion never has any affect on the SP to my knowledge.
Your questions are like asking what day your roses will break into flower next year. Just be assured that they will if you keep them well-tended. The exact date is all part of the mystery and any delay may well enable the delicate petals to escape the ravages of frost had they bloomed too early.
This year, next year, sometime, whenever - who needs to know more accurately than that.

Hi All,
Well there you go, check back on the data I posted about the size and possible value of the Cigarette Filters, then have a think about the value of the patents to a big manufacturer of the product.
It could fetch a very tidy sum for Biotec, which could then be re-invested in expansion of production, or R&D.
Looking good I think :)
Cheers,

Patent Disposal & Update
RNS Number:0674S
Stanelco PLC
03 October 2005
3rd October 2005
Stanelco plc ("Stanelco" or "the Company")
Biotec seeks Patent Disposal and GREENSEAL Update
Stanelco, the RF (radio frequency) applications group, has undertaken a full
review of its Biotec Holdings GmbH ("Biotec") patent portfolio, following its
joint acquisition with SP Metal of the Biotec business on 5th September 2005.
As part of this review it has identified two specific patents that are not core
to the future direction of the Biotec business under its new ownership. The two
patents, one granted (application EP0861036-A1) and one pending (EP1567025-A),
both apply to biodegradable starch-based cigarette filters. Although Stanelco
and SP Metal believe these patents may represent an immense opportunity of
considerable value to the tobacco industry, they agree that they are not part of
their future business plans for Biotec.
As a result Stanelco plans to divest of the patents and the directly related
intellectual property (IP) that has been developed.
Potential buyers of the relevant patents and related IP are now being actively
sought. Stanelco will announce further details of the disposal process in due
course.
The adoption of Stanelco's GREENSEAL Technology under the ASDA contract
continues to progress in line with expectations, with a number of machines due
to enter commercial operation in the coming weeks. Major steps are also being
made in both Europe and North America towards the commercialisation of a number
of projects, particularly those involving Biotec's materials and Stanelco
intends to update the market with these developments shortly.

As I said at the time, I think SEO would not like as a 'green' company to have anything to do with smoking so this move is of no surprise to me.
Like the bit about ASDA and other news coming shortly. No ambiguous statement.
Nice start to the week.

QC - I could not understand why SEO might want to sell of what could be a very profitable patent - but I think you are absolutely right. - thanks for that
