How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

One of the horses Tabby gave us that lost is running tomorrow. Previous experience is that they win next time out so might be worth following.

Haljaferia 18:00 Doncaster on Saturday

The Point circuit has a great followingI have friends that have in the past had horses with Phil York and his FatherPhil is a great bloke...a legend in the point-to-point World and still a good Jockey

Perhaps Haljaferia Beverley 2-30 might be worth a piss takeI have it as a 7/2 chanceBetfair have it at 8.8 and I have backed it a lot higher...it will probably win next time outso dont back itthen I wont get the grizzle

Dil - 31 May 2010 00:56 - 10476 of 10502

Be better off just laying them when he first backs them Jeff :-)

tabasco - 15 Jul 2010 18:14 - 10477 of 10502

Loaded up with four experienced players in the openhopefully will be able to trade with them over Sat/Sun.might even have the winner amongst themPhil Mickelson Vijay Singh Lee Westwoodand Ernie Els.these four will be able to take the pressure and the predicted testing conditions DYOR.also had a very small punt on Colin Montgomery his last chance I fear!with a 150+ runners good odds to be had!

tabasco - 17 Jul 2010 07:48 - 10480 of 10502

Jeffwent to bed at two up at sixlot of play to doI guess the horses came from Darren Swantonevaluated the race earlier and made it a 6/1 chance pretty much in line with the trade papers.will look closer later if time?I notice he has an unraced 3 year old filly on the same Leicester card?

tabasco - 17 Jul 2010 11:25 - 10481 of 10502

JeffI have quickly looked at Graylyn Rubyslightly put off by changing surface from his last run/winnormally has a big effect one way or another on performancestill make Ruby a 6/1 chancemy best value in what is a very difficult race to assess is Swordsmanwithout much confidence this 8 year old has been hurdlingchasing.and running on the flatis tongue tied and visored all within the last six weeksnot a path recommended for successbut at around 17-18s has run on firm ground three days ago and showed a little promise I believe this to be around an 10/1 shotI hope your selection wins as I wont be involved in the raceIt could easily end up favourite?

jeffmack - 17 Jul 2010 12:44 - 10482 of 10502

Actually I also like swordsman, so might have an EW on it

Sat 5:05 Newb Graylyn Ruby
Tue 8:10 Bang Inmate

Inmate was pulled out of the bangor race as the going was not to hi liking. Won very easily yesterday at 11/2. Expected to be a nice horse for a small stable.

tabasco - 30 Jul 2010 09:44 - 10485 of 10502

I did notice Jeffwon by over 20 lengths as well as being eased downhe obviously likes to hear his hooves rattlelifetime best performance as a 9yooff 91

tabasco - 30 Jul 2010 10:00 - 10486 of 10502

Jeff.write this in your notebookTim Easterbys Captain Dunnehe ran 2 lengths behind Borderlescott yesterdayshowed blistering pacehe is improving far quicker than the handicapper can keep up this yearbut only just gets home over 5fI would like to see him held up midfieldand give him a target last 100 yards.please DYOR but I will back blindly for at least the rest of this season.probably shot myself in the foot early prices betfair? Got a punt for free yesterdayand was only just run out of a Group 2

jeffmack - 16 Aug 2010 17:16 - 10487 of 10502

Tabby
I see Captain Dunne is entered at York tomorrow. Whats your thoughts on its chances.

tabasco - 09 Sep 2010 10:06 - 10488 of 10502

The Ultimate Big Brother Winner could see a tasty big price opportunitythe odds on fav. Brian Dowling is 30/100...I just cant see him winning even though he is being touted as a bankerI have some nice bets on Chantelle Houghton @ 17...12.5...and 8s.I also have some not so good bets on Prestonher ex. Husband@ 60...100and 110...
Prices at this moment are 7.2 Chantelle and 200 PrestonBrian is 77% of the bookif he was to throw a wobbly or at least lose some popularity the odds on my selections would look very tastyI think Chantelle will win anyway there must be a good trading opportunity on my two in this weeks final please dyor.

Bullshare - 13 Sep 2010 10:07 - 10490 of 10502

Looks like Betfair might float very shortly, although the papers say this every month !

tabasco - 12 Dec 2010 09:44 - 10491 of 10502

I posted this on the NOWT thread even before the Xfactor live singing stage on the 5th Octoberand while they were still at the judges houses

tabasco - 05 Oct 2010 09:24 - 9589 of 10179

Cheryl Cole... who I love has had a mad moment. She has picked a Train Crash and left out the certain winner... and I am very rarely wrong... Gamu Nhengu would have won the competition... know doubt about that.. and the X-Factor/Cheryl Cole will end up with egg on their face...
Gamu Nhengu will be snapped up by another producer and thats for sure... In her absence 1 Direction will win and Matt Cardle will come second...that will now be the result. The real winner Gamu Nhengu has been mugged!
I have judged the competition on talent... and nothing else....Cheryl Cole has judged on emotion. Big mistake!!!
Sorry... but i am sad and love these shows...
---------------------------------------------------------------
These kind of shows with a little research can be very profitableI have traded Matt and One Directionand now have a good profit with free bets running on both.Matt is now only available at 1.81 = 4/5 and One Direction 3.5 = 5/2 either one will add the cherryOne Direction would be my best result
Anyone thinking of having a punt tonightI would saysave your moneypretty open between all threeand no value left in the fav

I never posted this upso you will have to trust mehad it off on Stacey Solomon in the Junglenice?

Also loaded up on Arsenal at 8,10 and 12...trading at this moment at 5.1.I have small bits on Liverpool from 16.5 to silly oddsand I mean silly tradable odds
The lucky thicko is never wrong

A Sleeper FTO a good stock pick waiting to explode dyor! Just a very small ramp there Dil
