Hi All,
I just found a newer brochure on Celenese, last year they had Acetate product sales of $695m .... and a LOSS on that of $2m !!!!
If they have the same level of sales of Starch based product, based on a cost saving of 30% to 50%, they would have made a huge profit on that part of their operations !!!!

Masterson
Get back in your pram, the cigarette filters are only at the concept stage, IF they were worth anything of note don't you think the previous owners would have sold it off or manufactured it themselves?
Your polarised views are really startling, buy too much at 30p perhaps?
Dangerous ramping should be outlawed on these threads, in one afternoon he's gone from selling this IP at 1 million pounds to 100 million pounds plus he's gonna save a loss making company into the deal!
All you people new to this game should take great care when reading this chaps posts, he changes usernames frequently when things go belly up then moves on to his next ramp. Ask him what happened over at BES where he was predicting 50 per share?

Good evening Team.
When speaking to the SEO staff at the Birmingham Packaging Show last week, the staff did specifically mention to me the number of useful patents that they had uncovered after the purchase of Biotec. I did not think too much of it at the time, but looking back they were quite enthusiastic about the potential of some of them.
Having enough time to develop the potential was raised as an issue by the SEO staff I met. Todays announcement comes as no surprise. I am pleased they will have more time to focus on their major profit lines.
Regarding the statement that developments are "in line with expectations", I feel we need to perhaps reign in our enthusiasm for quick wins. "Expectations" might mean that development news could be long and drawn out !
My "expectation" is for a very bumpy ride with the MMs (and day traders) looking to make money in periods between announcements. Need for a reality check. That is how they make their money. No price movements - upwards or downwards and they don't eat. Expect mark-downs without news. I am personally staying in for the ride. We are sustained at our current market cap, mostly on our POTENTIAL. Many potential investors are avoiding SEO as they are scared it will go down. I am staying in because I am scared it will go up if I'm out!
Not worried

btw Proving a technology such as a new design cigarette filter would take millions and millions of pounds in study and research, to get something passed through onto the market in such a difficult dangerous market such as the tobacco one is extremely difficult to say the least.
Long term studies would be required into the effiency of the filter versus whats on the market at present, long term medical studies using a huge sample group would need to be carried out to see if any health downsides came to the fore versus the normal filters.
Of course Masterson will fail to tell anyone this as he thinks you turn up at a companies door, give it a knock then walk away with the cheque; the reason they're selling it on will be the vast cost of even considering doing it on their own, whats it worth to someone else? Very little till proven.
Bit like a concept drug at phase1 stage, it may claim to be a possible aids cure but it's going to take hundreds of millions and many many years to get it close to market.

Agree with the several posts (and Tom Bulford) that SEO should concentrate on getting one really good product to market, i.e. Greenseal - but Starpol is such an intrinsic part of the packaging revolution that I think they can be forgiven for developing this in tandem with GS.
Frogpack will always be a lot smaller, I understand, however they can't exactly put it on hold can they.

taken up?

Good news for SEO investors. Concentrate on packaging concepts, it would take millions to get this market and it is not in a consumer friendly market, However you dress it up, smoking kills people directly and in-directly and a starch based filter would be no excuse for dumping more litter.
Could raise a few bob for SEO and SP Metals.

Maybe we should have a poll/competition to try and guess the price that Biotec will get for the Cigarette Filter IP ....
I will kick off with a whopping 75m, just to give you all a chance .... LOL !!!!

I would be interested soon to find out what the current "in-line with expectations" comment actually means. As I said last week the only potential cloud on the horizon for the short-term sp IMO is actual progress versus markets expectation and how that will translate to markets belief of any Starpol deals. Before I re-invest the profits I havn't spent on my family I would still like clarification re:Greenseal progress, a number of machines? 5,10, 50, that is the question and are 200 still anticipated within the first year because whatever way you want to look at it and like it or not SEO sp is currently following 2006 projected EPS with an approx. PE 30-35 even with Starpol/Walmart speculation. Take a look yourselves at forecast revisions & sp trend. I've no doubt Greenseal is and will make progress, its just the speed of it to deliver the profits that the market is now expecting.
Still have chance to re-invest before 20p, has 15p proved to be the support?
What does anyone make of 16-22p opening spreads, whats that all about?

Andy Hi,
"in-line with expectations" .... 200 conversions in the first 12 months ?
200 / 12 = approx. 16 per month ....
If they say they are in-line then that is the rate of take up .... verified by HQ ....
I'm happy with that.
Cheers,

Paul - I enjoy reading your research, I even enjoy your predictions - which I take with a fair pinch of salt on some - but I dont enjoy you rubbing my nose in how much you earn and how many thousands of shares you got. Spare a thought for us paupers living on our pension - theres a good chap.

Does anyone else think it strange that this afternoons press release specifically said that starpol/greenseal packaging was "just being introduced into US and british supermarkets"
Has any mention of a US connection been specifically mentioned in a press release before?
I just think it odd everyone's not jumping up and down at that one line in the middle of a broader press release.

Take what he says about his earnings and share holdings with a massive dose of salt as well, he's been caught out so often with his lies even he would admit to being a compusive liar.

Sham - I read everyones comments with interest - even yours and Captain Guides - and apply my own reasoning and logic. That way I can't blame anyone else if the share price takes off or collapses. Paul does at least support his predictions with his assumptions which enables you to make your own decisions.

Peter
If I predicted 20 per share you'd want to listen to me as well, unfortuantly I stick to truth and fact based price targets, not pie in the sky unachievable feel good one's.

Note he's never answered my question about the market cap being equal to BP if his prediction ever came true, seems even he see's the embarresment behind his claim.
I'll leave you to it today, i'm busy elsewhere.
