GOLD OIL, the London-based oil exploration company focused on the South American and Caribbean region, announces that in late December 2005, the Company received an Operator Certificate from PeruPetro that allows the Company to carry out seismic, drilling and development operations in Northwest Peru.
The Promotion Licence signed with PeruPetro on October 15, 2004 with PeruPetro for Block XI (now renamed Block XXI) onshore Sechura Basin has been converted to an Exploration and Production Licence. The Licence now goes to the Ministry of Energy and Mines for approval, which could be forthcoming anytime between February and May of this year 2006.
The terms of the E&P Licence commit the Company to either shoot 120 km of 2D seismic or drill a well in the first period of five over a seven year term. The remaining four periods require the Company to either drill a well or drop the acreage. The Licence is for a term of 30 years for oil and 40 years for gas, with a minimum royalty of 5% on wellhead production for the first 5000bopd (30 MMscfd for gas) rising to 20% if and when production reaches 100,000 bopd (600 MMscfd for gas).
Times Article:
Gold Oil is valued in the market at about 15m. That is so small that almost any good news must have a big impact on the share price.
What are the chances of that happening? Run by a former Burmah Oil director, Mike Burchell, Gold Oil will drill the first in a series of wells in the Sechura Basin in April. There will be surprise if it does not find gas, as another company, Olympic, has done just that in a similar formation nearby.
The secondary target, later in the year, will be oil, I gather. A couple of months ago, Petro Tech made a big oil find offshore in the Sechura Basin. The theory is the oil may have migrated up into Gold Oils block. Dont ask me to explain the geology because I dont speak Palaeozoic. But a decent oil find here would be a company-maker.
Gold Oil has enough cash to fund this years drilling programme. And it already has a deal in place to sell its gas to Mann Ferrostaal, a German company that is building an ammonia plant nearby. Getting all that for 15m seemed a bargain to me. But Gold Oil still has to find its gas.

that was a strange response - that people perhaps had not read the rns correctly. I am not going to rush back in at the moment, but I will watch carefully over the next few days. I have made a lot of mistakes lately and cannot afford to keep on making them. From what the person from the company had said I would take it that everything probably will be okay, but people can say anything when they are in a mess. I mentioned in the post I sent on sunday that I did not like the length of time it was taking for the news to come, because when this happpen normally they have not god good news to tell. ie vog. keep in touch.

I would also add that most mini-minnows also find nothing and disappear under the waves.

dthompson014 how do I go about dealing online. I sometimes leave a dealwith brokers and it does not happen instantly, and sometimes even gets overlooked. This was the reason I phone my goo oil order through. I sold my 250,00 goo oil throught to the brokers yesterday. 26585 sold at .85 at 10.56am. 70,000 at .85p at 10.56. 28,415 at .85p at 10.56. and 125,000 at .85p at 10.56 am. I seem to end up getting the lowest price of the day. I panicked and was pleased to sell at the time. It has since come to my attention that none of the sales have shown on the london stock exchange. I asked the broker to sell at the best price. They do not show at all yester or today. I phoned the broker up today and spoke to the manager, and asked her to confirm these sales with me. She confirmed the sales and told me they were sold through the market maker at .85p. I was told they may have been added to another order. O r may not even show at all. All these 4 sales of 250,000 all went through at 10.56 am what is your opinion of this. I have received all four contracts of sale today. In a nut shell 250,000 shares have been sold at the lowest price or the day and up to not do not show on the london stock exchange lists of sales. All shares were sold at .8 and a half pence. I s this normal. and does it sound right to you? the shares were sold through jarvis investment management. Good luck every one. I think I need some.

jb- imo you are better off using an online broker. two reasons you can execute the trade yourself online or in a busy mkt you can deal over the phone whilst watching the spread.phone broker via online service, execution slightly more expensive.

Janet - check SELFTRADE (12.50 per trade) site or SHARECRAZY (9 per trade)site.
They will give you on screen advice as to trading on-line.
They also have a demo page so that you can try before you buy.
On-line you can set the price at which you want to buy & sell. The trade will then only execute at the price you set.
Sorry to see you got badly stung.
