MyTravel close to agreeing debt restructuring - report

LONDON (AFX) - MyTravel PLC is close to reaching agreement with its creditors over the restructuring of its 1.3 bln stg debt, the Sunday Express reported.

The ailing tour operator, which owns Airtours and Going Places, last week met a syndicate of 40 banks to discuss a refinancing proposal that includes a debt-for-equity swap, the paper said.

Other options being looked at include raising cash from an outside investor and the disposal of loss-making joint ventures, the report added.

Last week, MyTravel announced a further downsizing of the business by reducing its UK fleet by 9 pct to 21 aircraft. The cuts will lead to 540 job losses.
