It might be worth looking
here for an answer.

Thanks skinny am working my way through your list which has thrown up some sugestions I hadn't already explored. Using the repair and uninstall options within Windows keeps stalling about three quarters of the way through claiming it "has encountered a problem" - Housten please bring back Outlook Express which never seemed to cause any problems over the years.

My internet keeps dropping out after @5 minutes and reloads after a similar interval - I've tried a different router, filter, cables etc - but no difference - any ideas or is likely to be my ISP or other?

If you contact your ISP they can do some diagnostics over the connection. They can even adjust settings at their end. Which ISP is it?

Hmm. Could be a universal problem. I'm with PlusNet, unlimited, recently the speed has been dropping dramatically then recovering. I've had to switch everything off then restart on a few occasions. I've been blaming the kids/wife/dog/next door neighbours/Jeremy Corbyn et al; could it be Aliens?!:o)

When I power on WIN10 I get a really good pic and a question if I like it or not-I like it/them.
However on another PC in the house on WIN1O this doesn`t appear, any idea how to get it- tried Microsoft help without success

Thanks for the input - I was out for the rest of yesterday and last night - it seems fine this morning - so I assume it was Talktalk - really frustrating, but to be honest - quite rare these days.

On Win10 am now suffering the very annoying problem of new tabs hanging and becoming unresponsive in both Chrome and Edge (which I used to call IE).
Opening pages in a new window solves the problem, but multiple tabs in either browser just causes the whole lot to jam up! I assume it's an extension somewhere but even un-installing and re-installing doesn't solve it. Soooooooo annoying as I don't think I have changed anything in the settings.

It does sound like an extension problem?
For info - I currently have 20 tabs open under Chrome.
A little bit
here.

There is a whole forum on the current problems with Chrome, but there doesn't seem to be a 'one thing fixes all' solution. (That's the one I found skinny....your link).
I only have Rapport and AdBlock Plus as extensions at the moment (Apart from the Google own extensions) so might have to disable them and see if that changes anything.

Apart from the defaults, I only have AdBlock Plus if that helps narrow it down.

Have disabled all Extensions and no different. New tabs still hang.
No doubt Google will come up with a fix at some point.....says he hopefully!

Strangely opening pages in a new window solves the problem, so that's what I am having to do for the foreseeable future. Haven't yet found a way of getting Chrome to open every link in a new window by default rather than a new tab.

Harry - have a look
here - looks a bit over the top, but 6 has the option to "open all bookmarks in new
window" where all bookmarks have been predefined by you.

Now got C:\Program Files(x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\Chrome.exe
The server threw an exception
Having Googled all of that, seems it's an ongoing problem. No known fix yet....as far as I can see.
