The main activity of Biofuels is the large scale production and exploitation of biodiesel and glycerine following the construction and commissioning of the initial plant.
Biodiesel is produced from vegetable oils and, as an environmentally friendly product, can make a significant contribution towards reducing green house gases and meeting Kyoto targets.

wonder why Barclays would continue to buy unless there is some clever scheme related to the (inevitable?) d4e

I bought 4500 shares at 27.5p each, they are now worth approx. 16p each. Any advice as to what I should do would be very much appreciated.
Do I just take what I can get now and run, or do I hang in there and hope that things improve?
If D4E swap happens what is the likely outcome for my shares, do I lose a number of shares or do I keep the same quantity but the value of my shares is decreased?
I sort of assumed that if there are 49,000,000 shares in issue and Barclays took 50% of the company there would in theory be 98,000,000 shares in issue making the value of existing share holders shares halved??
This is all purely guess work on my part and after my failed investment on CHP (bought @ 17p sold @ 16.5p), BFC is only my second investment and it is probably quite obvious that I have a lot to learn.
Thanks for any advice in advance.

Cynic - price of crude will sky rocket so biodiesel will become a far more popular and cheaper alternative fuel - so yes there is a big effect.

GDP .... biodiesel will almost certaionly become more popular over time, but that does not mean that every cruddy little biofuel company is a potential gold mine, and BFC has does not even have the appearance of iron pyrites (fool's gold!)
BEAN* ...... imo, cut your losses .... D4E will cut or even decimate the little value of what you have left

Corn, etc has already rocketed as has many other raw materials for biofuel. It'll become as pricey as crude and other users, eg farmers, will charge more for their product.
It's a vicious circle.
Either way, chances are BFC is for the knackers yard. ;-))

bean* .... can't work out how to send you a message through the system here ..... obvious very thick! ..... anyway, in answer to your e-, not incidentally that i really do know what i am talking about, but merely a purveyor of occasional common sense ......
i am no longer short of BFC, not because i think the company will survive, but because i do not understand why Barclays Investements (or whatever they are called) have been increasing their stake ..... seems totally nuts to me, as my brain says D4E is inevitable and must decimate shareholders' interests.
you may find this share difficult to short ..... i tried to when sp was a bit higher, but clearly there were no holders (then) who were prepared to lend the necessary stock ..... also, depending on how you deal, your broker may not offer a shorting facility .... that said, assuming it is available, you could take out a put option which has a similar effect .... ask your broker
