ntx flying on news of mobile phone speakers

Barry,
I for the life of me cannot understand why a person would want to sit in front of a PC when they have no interest in the share causing havoc but they do.
I would of thought they would have something else to do with their life, some of the post are so bad that ADFVN delete their posts before any body can read them but they still try.
I don't post much on there but check it every day because as I say you can get some good info and alot of people do the same.

Mobile phones boost for NXT

Whatever NXT? Few shares jump 69pc in a single day, but then few have fallen quite so far as NXT without disappearing entirely. Even after yesterday's leap, they are still uncomfortably in the 90pc Club.

The rise followed an order from NTT of Japan for its mobile phones. This may be the breakthrough NXT's fans have been awaiting for so long, but then again, it may not be. They dream of turning every flat hard surface into a loudspeaker, whether it be a laptop, car windscreen, or mobile phone. Rather than a groundbreaking technology, flat speakers now look like a clever gimmick. With just 5m of development capital left and likely losses of that much this year, NXT seems doomed to become little more than an interesting novelty, perhaps in the tradition of the Rabbit mobile phone or the Squarial.

Continued progress for NXT at CES 2005


Huntingdon, 10 January 2005: The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held last week in Las Vegas, Nevada, once again provided NXT with the opportunity to demonstrate progress, and further underlined the commitment of the company's licensees.

This year's CES saw a number of NXT enabled products make their debut, as licensees grasped the opportunity to utilise the show's early position in the calendar to introduce their latest NXT based models, including;

TEAC's MC-DX20B - a vertical loading 2.1 CD system utilising NXT's flat panel technology for the two satellite speakers. Capable of MP3 playback, the system's black finish and motorised door loading mechanism are the perfect complement to the NXT technology the speakers employ.

Sonic Impact demonstrated a range of NXT based products including a new version of the SI5 speakers. Previously, the SI5 comprised of a separate amplifier and two speakers, whereas the latest version integrates the amplifier into one of the speakers. Retailing at $59.95, Gen3, Sonic Impact's all-new speaker design, utilises NXT technology to create virtual surround sound, perfect for audiovisual and multimedia equipment. Finally, the company has also launched its first NXT SoundBag, set to retail at $19.99.

Maxell also increased its range of NXT speakers with the addition of a brand new 2.1 system, set to retail at a price point of $49.99.

Existing NXT enabled products, including the Philips Ambilight range of LCD TVs, KEF's KIT 100, and Mission's recently introduced M-cube system, continued to attract high levels of interest and attention at the show from both electronics retailers and the global media. The show also saw a number of NXT manufacturing licensees, including Billionsound, Eastech and Elac, highlighting their NXT capabilities to their customers.

During a media breakfast hosted by NXT at its suites at the Las Vegas Hilton, international journalists were given the chance to have a first view of some of the company's latest prototypes and in-market products, as well as meet NXT executives and engineers face to face. The highlight of the session saw NXT's CEO, David Pearson and Business Director, Graham Ryan, presented with the coveted 'Product of the Year' award for the company's second generation Distributed Mode Actuator (DMA) by Electronic Products magazine from the US.

As well as showcasing a SoundVu enabled prototype LCD TV on the show floor, NXT also utilised CES to unveil a selection of its latest prototypes to existing and potential licensees in private meetings at the two demonstration suites. Similarly, several NXT partners took the opportunity to gauge industry reaction to their own NXT based prototypes in 'behind closed doors' demonstrations.

Commenting on the show, NXT's CEO, David Pearson said, CES has always proved to be a very successful exhibition for NXT, and this year's show has been no exception. We have been delighted by our licensees' genuine creativity and innovation, illustrated by the diversity of NXT products demonstrated both publicly and privately at the show. Combined with last week's announcement by NTT DoCoMo of the world's first NXT enabled mobile phone, CES has provided an excellent springboard for further business progress in 2005.

most likely another deal will come quick because other phone manufacturers will not want to miss out on a device that could determine sales especially as the device is better for health reasons!
Government could impose phones to use their product again for health reasons!

Sorry hondaman but this whole health argument is false. We already have speakerphones that operate away from the head, and earpieces etc to do likewise. So there is no reason why any government would favour one particular gadget that does no more than the same as far as health is concerned, just because shareholders in NXT want them to. Nice try, but it won't wash :-)

I'm with Juzzle on this one (nothing against NXT, it's a nice piece of technology).

The cellphone health thing will run and run. I've heard so much nonsense in the last few years about the effect of RF from cellphones and "phone masts" (cellular base stations) from newspapers and other people with space to fill on slow news days it just beggars belief.

Some seem to have forgotten the cash burn on this one.

Sorry but I know theres a lot of supporters here but the fact is even after this ones cost cutting exercise its still going to have to go 'cap in hand' to the city for more funds.

tested 70p level first thing, think the trend may just have changed ?

any comments on tomorrows expected results, anyone got an idea of what is to come, do you think there will be any deals with the results?
