Thought I'd start a football blog, we might keep this going until 2010.....England doing well....did not see the match or even the goals....I'd like Michael owen back in the squad though....and I think Peter Crouch would make a very good substitute...remember against Argentina in Geneva a few years ago....with Michael Owen and some very good movements on and off the ball...they caused havoc.....did see Scotland's missed chance....that could be very costly losing those 2 points !.

Paul the Octopus predicts : Spain to win the final and Germany for the third place......I'm not so sure.....if the Dutch take a lead, they will be far more difficult to break down than the Germans.....the Spaniards then to score twice ?...difficult.....would not put a bet either way until the final gets underway...on paper it looks like going Spain's way, but this could be a tremendous final with these two cracking teams....

Today, during a live television broadcast, Paul predicted Germany would beat Uruguay
in the third place playoff match on Saturday - his seventh prediction of the tournament.

And now he has made his eighth - and possibly the most important -
prediction: that Spain will win the final.

Everybody is expecting Spain to win,.....I'm not so sure......if Holland can keep Spain at bay,....and then launch one or two counter attacks : it could be third time lucky for the Dutch.....also you rarely have a side that loses 3 times with no wins.....the Spanish play some pretty stuff but the sharpness of Robben and sorts might bring dividends....no bet for me either way until the game gets going.

Like to see the Dutch win but don't think their defence is that good, so it's Spain to win for me.
