Can anyone please advise where I can get a live cable price (GBP/USD) feed.
I have had one at Saxobank but my trial has run out and I cannot open a full trading account with them. Foc is best of course but otherwise as little as possible. I an trading Covered warrants with Comdirect and the 15min delayed price from them is not viable for live day tradng.
cheers

Beeblebrox - 30 Apr 2004 12:27 - 1110 of 11056

hello rpaco;
i use cmc.com, but of course you would need to open an acct.

hilary - 30 Apr 2004 12:30 - 1111 of 11056

Isn't it so frustrating when it hugs the line for so long? Hopefully we'll see a break soon.

I use the S&P Comstock feed, Tellon. No particular reason .... I've never tried the other feeds. Is there a difference in quality?

Off to lunch ..... till later.

Beeblebrox - 30 Apr 2004 12:34 - 1112 of 11056

added some more 177.40 - that should kill the rise !

what's for lunch hil's - i'm starving, but daren't leave my seat !

Tellon - 30 Apr 2004 12:41 - 1113 of 11056

I just like the bigger chart. Its an Ego thing!!

Seriously though, I prefer the larger choice of time scales (15min especialy)and studies. I like to sometimes have the chart in a small window and the larger the chart within the page the easier it is to see. Just a preference thing really.

PeterG - 30 Apr 2004 14:03 - 1119 of 11056

Hi from an addicted lurker. Had a look at this thread a couple of weeks ago and can't stay away...

The question about different feeds is something I checked out this morning on FXCM (for EURUSD, haven't checked cable). I opened both types of FXCM chart (FXCM quotes and S&P quotes). The FXCM quote looks "sluggish" compared to S&P, it is slower to update and less volatile. If you compare the 5-minute candlestick charts you can see slight differences. I opened CMC FX quotes to compare and CMC seems to be more in line with S&P than FXCM.

Back to lurking.

PS Well done Hilary on your trading record - awesome!

Beeblebrox - 30 Apr 2004 14:08 - 1120 of 11056

hilary - 01 May 2004 09:34 - 1126 of 11056

Well yesterday was a bit of a rollercoaster ride for me.

I sat with a long which was out of the money for the best part of the morning and moved into profit before I went to lunch. By the time I'd been to the bank and bought some gorgeous new sandals, lunch had fallen by the wayside. I got back just in time to raise my stop loss tight ahead of the 3pm data and found myself immediately being stopped for +45. I then made do with a ham and cheese roll and a yoghurt, Beebs.

I'm happy to now be out of the market until Tuesday. I noticed that thin trade in the few days ahead of the Easter weekend tended to cause sideways movement and screw up the oscillators. A similar thing looked to be happening yesterday. I'll just see what it looks like at 7am Tuesday and decide from there.

I'm going to try to get my head around Tellon's risk management post from a couple of days ago this weekend. I've looked at it about 4 times so far and still don't understand it.

:o)

Calender for next week coming up ........
