At last, sensible. I am CEO of a company (private, not public) and I can easily understand that if I told the shareholders / board that our expectations were x, then that should be the last I had to say on the matter, unless questioned directly or in possession of facts that made it clear our expectations were awry. I have argued for a while on here that expecting an RNS on every conversion, or even every 10 conversions is unrealistic for this reason alone.
Based on this I believe ssanebs post to be sensible and factual, and the expectations of the market to be fanciful and unrealistic.

Amities / HEW6 ...So, in effect you are saying the market has massively overvalued this stock in so far that you say it attitude is fanciful and unrealistic ? .@+

alan, it's a good job it isn't a public company, because , if i was a shareholder, i would be a touch outraged at the amount of time the ceo spent on bbs.......

if anyone thinks - that the recent RNSs were anything more than smoke and mirrors - then they should book tickets to see Elvis in concert on aturday - the cigarette filters is a classic - it will never happen - but its good to throw around - when one of the major shareholders - apples ? - is dumping and has been for a time - then pump any news you can think of - to try to stop the rot - but it cannot - so fall a lot - 8p or not ?
All IMO - DYOR !
Applebys hold - or did ? - around 70M RAMPELCO - 40M from around 4p level - 30M around 21p level - they could either have averaged - sold the lot down from 21p - nice profit - or just be selling the 40M - you know the chart - you know the last placing - you know those big sells - you know when they started selling - if it is them - just rumour - good business - support the placing - ensure lots of news about BIOFABLE in months ahead - then offload the lot - if its true -
All IMO - DYOR !

Market cap = 172.621 million
And the cigarette filter has been dumped:
As part of this review it has identified two specific patents that are not core
to the future direction of the Biotec business under its new ownership. The two
patents, one granted (application EP0861036-A1) and one pending (EP1567025-A),
both apply to biodegradable starch-based cigarette filters. Although Stanelco
and SP Metal believe these patents may represent an immense opportunity of
considerable value to the tobacco industry, they agree that they are not part of
their future business plans for Biotec.
As a result Stanelco plans to divest of the patents and the directly related
intellectual property (IP) that has been developed.
Potential buyers of the relevant patents and related IP are now being actively
sought. Stanelco will announce further details of the disposal process in due
course.
I thought conventional cigarette filters were biodegradable anyway!!

TFC,
No. What I was saying was that the share at current values is undervalued, if the conversions are going "as expected". The share was only overvalued by traders who thought that Asda deal + possible Wallmart link = instant profits. It doesn't, it cannot and it never will. What it does equate to is a company with a range of innovative ideas, plenty of IP, and a proven ability to get those ideas in front of the decision makers at big outfits. That will, over time, prove to be the companies success. What has happened here is the traditional sheep mentality of a market biased towards short termism. One big holder jumps ship and it sparks a rumour mill that flies out of control and feeds itself on the other holders getting out quick because they fear being left holding the baby.
I repeat that nothign has changed as far as the facts we are aware of. That may change shortly and I will reassess my position then, but currently, whether buying or selling, you do so on rumour and maybes, PMs googling and others scare tactics.
Be strong and take the position you feel the facts deserve.
Bos,

"Major steps are also being made in both Europe and North America towards the commercialisation of a number of projects, particularly those involving Biotec's materials and Stanelco intends to update the market with these developments shortly"

Perhaps they've spread themselves too thinly instead of having core technologies to get revenues flowing.

It's a horrible thing to say but I sold my entire holding for 22p after watching the price drop from it's 30p peak. I still believe SEO have excellent potential but as others have said they need to deliver something tangible, I feel like a rat leaving a sinking ship but it makes no sense watching you profit ebb away and doing nothing because off sentiment. I must hold my hands up and confess to being an II knocker but now have to say he was talking a lot of sense.

I'm frankly shocked no one appears to know the correct market cap here, instead of wasting time on here get some basic research done or you'll sink very soon in these markets.
ps It's currently circa 116 million.
