optomistic - 09 Aug 2004 22:22 - 11213 of 23498

That C de M seems to be popular by the pint, will pour you one of those, and I will join you! How are you doing with your spy problems? I bet the most difficult thing is to decide which solution to try first.
Always recommend creating a restore point if you are going to get involved in lots of 'experiments'

Socrates - 09 Aug 2004 22:24 - 11214 of 23498

opto
Yes I saw the announcement. Makes my few tens of thousands pale into insignificance. Sherry trifle time I think!

optomistic - 09 Aug 2004 22:29 - 11215 of 23498

Sherry trifle it is Socs, just opened a gallon of your favorite I'll pour you a pint as well.
Hope our few thousands attain significance!!

chocolat - 09 Aug 2004 22:40 - 11216 of 23498

dd - what do you think?
Never went near the XP machine today, opto - just used my old one offline at work...I s'pose one option would be to do *system restore*, but then I rather think the whole hideous thing would simply implode anyway. What was that I read about MSFT wanting to quadruple its business software sales in Germany - and the rest!! I reckon they've spread these viruses in the first place.

daves dazzlers - 09 Aug 2004 22:57 - 11217 of 23498

choc,i see you as a bit of bournville,my fav.

Socrates - 09 Aug 2004 23:25 - 11218 of 23498

Goodness me, sherry trifle and a pint of CdM, I'll either never get to sleep or never get to wake up. Must retire now, work tomorrow and it's taxing my brain.

Good night kind friends.

STORMCALLER - 09 Aug 2004 23:39 - 11219 of 23498

Evening All,
What a day, far too much excitement, far too much red, had six turn blue at 16:29 but frankly don't trust the data. Evening started to look up with visit from godson, just left so returned to stockwatch, half my stuff showing 0, appropriate end to the day I feel.
Need something cold but lively, only a bottle of fizz will do, cheers!

chocolat - 10 Aug 2004 00:00 - 11220 of 23498

Cheers dd - it might be so.. ;)

'ello and g'dnight Stormie - gotta go

STORMCALLER - 10 Aug 2004 00:03 - 11221 of 23498

hello & g,night chocolat.

STORMCALLER - 10 Aug 2004 00:41 - 11222 of 23498

All that excessive activity has worn me out, bottle empty and too tired to open another, so throw it in the recycler, and depart.
Wishes for a simpler day tomorrow.
Goodnight,
SC

jj50 - 10 Aug 2004 09:19 - 11223 of 23498

Morning all. In for a quick cup of coffee before heading out for morning. See Cairn Energy had another find - can't remember which team had that but it wasn't us girls, well done whoever - can't stop that Bill Gammell

optomistic - 10 Aug 2004 10:14 - 11224 of 23498

Morning all. VERY wet here, looking for some blue on the market today, only place we are going to get it today.

jeffmack - 10 Aug 2004 10:56 - 11225 of 23498

Looking through the posts above it seems like everyones been very wet, hot and steamy. I was in Killarney for the weekend at a wedding, had a great time, very friendly people over there and countryside is outstanding.

stockbunny - 10 Aug 2004 12:57 - 11226 of 23498

Afternoon All...Is it safe to come in?
No spy software, broken washing machines, iffy laptops or dishwasher
problems in here today?
Didn't we have a day of it yesterday!!! (lol)

Choccie - BTW I have found system restore on XP does work fine - as long
as you have kept the back-up system relatively up to date.

Sun's come out now - will sit and have a cup of tea and a round of
tuna and cucumber sarnies out on the cafe roof I think - give me a
shout anyone who comes in if I don't see you!
