Bring Back Goldfinger and Doodlebug Petition (GDB)

Shortie - 03 Feb 2015 13:47

What's a forum without people posting, some friendly banter and opposing views. By MAMs decision to remove the above posters we now have less views and these forums have lost their humour and rich content. I say bring back GF and DB immediately.

Please post your support if you agree?

Talking about running a business , yours seem to be running itself . Have you retired ? you seem to have a lot of time on your hands

cynic - 05 Feb 2015 14:58 - 115 of 266

just goes to show that what you know and what you think you know merely show that you didn't know that you didn't know

Any shift in the suspenders stance re Db and gf?

cynic - 06 Feb 2015 13:12 - 124 of 266

suspenders are infinitely preferable to hold-ups!

however, i fear that Mike and Ian will not change their minds, and certainly not overtly
that said, if in due course either or both made a re-appearance and maintained a half-way civilised approach to their postings, then a blind eye might be turned, as has happened with "another"

HARRYCAT - 06 Feb 2015 13:22 - 125 of 266

Leopard and spots spring to mind!

cynic - 06 Feb 2015 13:46 - 126 of 266

"another" has managed it pretty well though the mask slips occasionally

Stan - 06 Feb 2015 13:50 - 127 of 266

Who's that then?

Copied from afn and reposted here in case the email system isn't working:

Dear Mike/Bullshare,

I have been reading the various posts by you and other posters on the “Bring back Goldfinger and Doodlebug” thread on Moneyam and since you have let Goldfinger respond on that thread perhaps you will also give me the courtesy of a right to reply and post this email.

Since you made the decision to ban Goldfinger and me from posting on Moneyam you know that I have made no attempt to contact you, or any other member of staff at Moneyam. I agree with you that no one poster or contributor is bigger than the sum of all the different parts and if the management decide that the team effort is being eroded by a disruptive individual or individuals then the management have the right to act.

You say that you had a yellow card/red card system in place, perhaps you did but I can’t remember getting a yellow card, whereas I know that Goldfinger was on a least one yellow card! If we are going to use football parlance, then I feel like a member of a football team who has been fouled constantly by one member of the opposition for about 85 minutes - without any support from the referee - then decided enough was enough and was promptly sent off for retaliation!

Since I started posting on the Moneyam bulletin board a few years ago I have, on occasions, contacted Ian and asked him to remove posts by Goldfinger on your forum which referred to me as “scum”, “pleb”,” thug” – apart from some other derogatory comments which I decided to let stand without complaint. When you intervened on one thread last year and asked everyone to calm down, Chris Carson and I both agreed to let matters rest, but Goldfinger continued his goading and abuse. I was also subjected to a constant stream of abusive posts by Goldfinger last year where he spammed various threads accusing me of being a poster on ADVFN referred to as “Stigologist” and who I believed at the time was the subject of a court case. Again I was forced to ask Ian to have these posts removed and they were then only removed in part.

At the start of 2015 I was prepared to let bygones be bygones, but Goldfinger started making derogatory comments on ADVFN and then on Moneyam referring to me as a “bankrupt” and saying I had lost all my money on FLYB. It is very easy for other posters to pass comments saying that I should just have ignored it, but it’s not so easy to ignore when you are the poster being subjected to unfounded and unwarranted abuse on a daily basis.

There is no doubt that Goldfinger did contribute a great deal to the various threads on Moneyam, particularly the chart thread, but I personally found his constant abuse of myself and Chris Carson unacceptable. Surely one poster has a right to disagree with another poster on a public forum without being subjected to various forms of foul-mouthed abuse, including speculation about their sexual preferences? If you read the posts on the FOXT thread you will understand what I am referring to, and that is just one example.

I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to air my views on your public forum and if you see fit to edit any part of what I have said then that is your prerogative. I apologise for all the aggravation and extra work this issue has undoubtedly caused you and your staff at Moneyam.

Kind regards,

Doodlebug4

if DB is banned, how come he is allowed to post through the backdoor?
