Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

"Assistant whip Gareth Johnson became the latest member of the government to quit his job over the deal, saying in his resignation letter to the PM that it would be "detrimental to our nation's interests".

He added: "The time has come to place my loyalty to my country above my loyalty to the government."

'They should flip a coin , deal or no deal then get on with it.'

Blimey Dilbert, who do you think you are? Noel Edmonds or summat?

:o)

Dil - 14 Jan 2019 14:47 - 11494 of 12628

Well it's as good a plan as anyone on here or in Parliament have come up with.

And Cardiff City have had to issue a statement today on the matter after Warnock told reporters his view on things at the weekend.

Warnock should be PM :-)

Clocktower - 14 Jan 2019 15:01 - 11495 of 12628

Surprised ar you Dil, as you seem that you are now happy to stay in on the flip of a coin - unless its a doublesided one with out on boths sides that is. :-)

Stan - 14 Jan 2019 15:45 - 11496 of 12628

It's not Labour who neccessarly will go for the 1st informed referendum and to be honest nor the Government unless forced...I can see no alternative now though.

Could do a lot worst then Warnock Dil 🙂

cynic - 14 Jan 2019 15:56 - 11497 of 12628

so in your informed opinion, what do you think labour will actually support or propose, notwithstanding that that changes almost by the hour?

Stan - 14 Jan 2019 16:02 - 11498 of 12628

Oh your talking now are you Alf, like the majority in this Country I have no idea or interest what Party politicians say on Brexit as most of it is hot air like much of what you outsiders spout on here and have done for over 2 1/2 years now.

Clocktower - 14 Jan 2019 16:35 - 11499 of 12628

TM`s statement sets out why it is time to back it as it may turn out to be the deal that keeps Labour out, and may now lead to the outcome over a number of years that Clean Break supporters want.

Fred1new - 14 Jan 2019 17:07 - 11500 of 12628

Manuel,

All but, staying in EU.

Mind TM and the tories exiters will be begging at the table but not drawing up the menues.

Fred1new - 14 Jan 2019 17:43 - 11501 of 12628

Now it is an ill-informed parliament.

Stan - 14 Jan 2019 18:10 - 11502 of 12628

Get Dominic back on the case I say 😎

required field - 14 Jan 2019 18:27 - 11503 of 12628

Well...you know what they say in Ukraine :...a pessimist is an informed optimist !....

Dil - 14 Jan 2019 18:32 - 11504 of 12628

CT , the coin flip would be deal or no deal , remain would not be an option. Like you say , if we leave with the current deal the only thing about it that we couldn't fix in the future is the 39 billion she's agreed to pay them.

required field - 14 Jan 2019 18:50 - 11505 of 12628

Could take a leaf out of adolf hitler's book and invade southern Ireland saying it's just for lunch....therefore there would be no more problemo !....except my ancestors would turn in their graves...(:((…..

required field - 14 Jan 2019 18:56 - 11506 of 12628

Might be hasta la vista may..may...tomorrow.....oh dear !....job to be 100% serious on this thread....sorry....

Dil - 14 Jan 2019 18:57 - 11507 of 12628

Had crossed my mind rf or just paying them to leave with us :-)

Dil - 14 Jan 2019 18:59 - 11508 of 12628

Warnock has issued another statement saying he stands by his Brexit comments.

required field - 14 Jan 2019 19:01 - 11509 of 12628

How on earth is the border crossing between Eire and Northern Ireland going to work ?....has it been thought out at all ?....backstop.....???.....god name is that ?....at the moment there has to be some sort of customs deal between us and the Republic of Ireland…..18 months on...and it's like day one isn't it ?....crazy......

hilary - 14 Jan 2019 19:02 - 11510 of 12628

Is he after the 'Uddersfield job then?

Dil - 14 Jan 2019 20:09 - 11511 of 12628

If OGS can get the Man U job after what he did to us then Warnock must be in line for Real Madrid or Barca.

I think he'll probably retire at end of year Hils , that's why he can say what he wants :-)

Talking of which , wouldn't be surprised if Grieve had no intention of standing at the next election. Would explain his disgraceful behaviour.
