Morning gents
Talked with Ivan Burgess yesterday evening on the phone nice bloke seems quite open.
Asked what he thought about the Tips article. He thought the author had as journalists do use a bit of creative mathematics. He had not got the quoted figures from Ivan his point of view is that the 5 million for Arce still holds the field he did point out he was surprised to get 80 feet more oil in Arce 3 as he thought there would be less.
He was also aware that people where expecting an RNS yesterday. He would like to put out information but will not until he is absolutely positive of the numbers. To this end he is waiting for flow results from Columbia once these arrive he will do his own calculations and publish. The hold up seems to be in communication he indicated he was having a very tough time getting through on the telephone and still had not received them as of 17:30 last night. I did ask if we would have any news this week and he confirmed we would.

Black Rock Oil & Gas PLC
06 September 2005
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 6th September 2005
Black Rock Oil & Gas plc
(or 'the Company')
Drilling Update - Colombia
Black Rock Oil & Gas plc is pleased to provide the preliminary results of
its Arce 3 appraisal well in Colombia. Testing of this well commenced on August
23rd.
Oil was first produced from Arce 3 on August 26th 2005. As of September 5th,
the well had produced 228 barrels of oil and 271 barrels of water. Arce 3
currently is producing at rates of between 25 and 36 barrels of oil per day,
using a beam pump with a stroke length of 102 inches and 2 strokes per minute.
The oil has an API gravity of 13.5 degrees.
Arce 3 was drilled to a total depth of 2,936 feet and encountered the reservoir
objective 80 feet higher than had been expected. Oil shows were recorded while
drilling and from wireline logs from a depth of 2,600 feet in the Mugrosa
Formation reservoir sandstones.
A pilot steam flood project, that could significantly increase flow rates, is
being evaluated. Steam would be injected via Arce 1, whilst it is likely that
Arce 2 would be a production well.
Black Rock has 50% equity in this project and the Company will provide further
updates as significant developments occur.

CNOOC Chief Economist Predicts $90 Oil by March
RI article on the views of Xia Yishan, Senior Research Fellow at the China Institute of International Studies.
SHANGHAI (Interfax-China) -- Oil will peak at $90 per barrel by March of next year, CNOOC Dep. Chief Economist Zhang Weiping said at conference discussing China's energy needs in Beijing on Monday. Zhang also expected global oil production to peak at 94-100 mb/day during the next five years.
"High oil prices will have adverse affects on China's economy," said Zhang.
Their imports could reach or even exceed $60 billion this year, up from $40 billion in 2004. Interestingly his views do not reflect much of a cutback in Chinese oil imprts.
China's annual crude demand is expected to rise by 9.7% this year, suggesting that the country will need to import 135 million tonnes this year, accounting for 42.45% of total demand and exceeding last year's figure of 40.5%, said a recent report by the Development Research Center under the State Council.
The country's net oil imports stood at 120 million tonnes in 2004.

Share price is all over the place today... what's the consensus of opinion now of where it's heading and when ?

IMHO;
all depends on what comes out of their steam thing in Colombia....if that does not come thru, then i think that sp is going down - otherwise if it does come thru, then it will rise (to at least double) overnight......
not sure how long it will take them to come up with the process of introducing and trialling steam at the Columbia prospect....anyone have any idea ? - will it take a few weeks or months ???
