Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Nick Boles amendment is to make it possible for Nick Boles to introduce a Bill to stop no deal Brexit. It requires a Bill as only primary legislation can stop it. However, May can ask the Queen to refuse Royal assent to it. The other nuclear solution is for May to prorogue parliament (end the session). All legislation in progress is then lost. Then a new session of parliament begins with a be Queen's speech.

Are you suggesting that I spun the headline for impact, Dil? Sacré bleu!!!
Btw, how are we doing on that £350m a week for the NHS?

They only get the £350m after we leave. It was also a promise made by some leave supporters. It wasn't a manifesto pledge and it wasn't a general election. It is unfortunate that people are gullible and didn't consider the lack of a mechanism for getting the money.

Nick Boles might have the support of a few but even the Labour front bench is against it as are Labour Brexiteers.
And it's a waste of time anyway as EU wouldn't agree an extension just because Parliament wants one.
We're leaving , au revoir , aufweidesen , adipose amigo , bye bye , good riddance.

Ah, but now those gullible people realise that the £350m was nothing more than a blatant lie, they'll probably be voting to remain in the 2nd referendum.

Haven't left yet Hils so ask me when they fail to deliver on it.
How did the IMF forecast for the two years following a leave vote pan out ?
Abbott could have probably come up with a better guess.

What 2nd referendum?”
We are not having a 2nd Referendum but the “1st Informed” Referendum, as someone who has been reading but posting over the last 18 months you will already have read that...please keep up.
