Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Stan - 23 Jan 2019 15:19 - 11841 of 12628

Dill? how many more times..we ain't leaving so please plan to emigrate to a non European Country -):

Haystack - 23 Jan 2019 15:21 - 11842 of 12628

Nick Boles amendment is to make it possible for Nick Boles to introduce a Bill to stop no deal Brexit. It requires a Bill as only primary legislation can stop it. However, May can ask the Queen to refuse Royal assent to it. The other nuclear solution is for May to prorogue parliament (end the session). All legislation in progress is then lost. Then a new session of parliament begins with a be Queen's speech.

hilary - 23 Jan 2019 15:23 - 11843 of 12628

Are you suggesting that I spun the headline for impact, Dil? Sacré bleu!!!

Btw, how are we doing on that £350m a week for the NHS?

Haystack - 23 Jan 2019 15:26 - 11844 of 12628

They only get the £350m after we leave. It was also a promise made by some leave supporters. It wasn't a manifesto pledge and it wasn't a general election. It is unfortunate that people are gullible and didn't consider the lack of a mechanism for getting the money.

Dil - 23 Jan 2019 15:28 - 11845 of 12628

Nick Boles might have the support of a few but even the Labour front bench is against it as are Labour Brexiteers.

And it's a waste of time anyway as EU wouldn't agree an extension just because Parliament wants one.

We're leaving , au revoir , aufweidesen , adipose amigo , bye bye , good riddance.

hilary - 23 Jan 2019 15:29 - 11846 of 12628

Ah, but now those gullible people realise that the £350m was nothing more than a blatant lie, they'll probably be voting to remain in the 2nd referendum.

:o)

Haystack - 23 Jan 2019 15:30 - 11847 of 12628

What 2nd referendum?

Dil - 23 Jan 2019 15:32 - 11849 of 12628

Haven't left yet Hils so ask me when they fail to deliver on it.

How did the IMF forecast for the two years following a leave vote pan out ?

Abbott could have probably come up with a better guess.

hilary - 23 Jan 2019 15:34 - 11850 of 12628

Oi Skinners, I'd never fight Dilbert - he might be the father of at least 6 of my kids.

:o)

Dil - 23 Jan 2019 15:35 - 11851 of 12628

Lol skinny.

“Haystack Send an email to Haystack View Haystack's profile - 23 Jan 2019 15:30 - 11847 of 11852

What 2nd referendum?”

We are not having a 2nd Referendum but the “1st Informed” Referendum, as someone who has been reading but posting over the last 18 months you will already have read that...please keep up.

Haystack - 23 Jan 2019 15:54 - 11855 of 12628

Exactly, we have had the one and only referendum and now we are leaving.

Dil - 23 Jan 2019 15:54 - 11856 of 12628

Yeah stick it in your diary Haystack , June 2065.

Haystack - 23 Jan 2019 15:56 - 11857 of 12628

Haha

Stan - 23 Jan 2019 16:04 - 11858 of 12628

Correction H/S all we had was an “Uniformed referendum” which is no good to man or beast.
