Theoretically though, javidshaik, one should be able to multiply up on each trade. Finspreads want one to have 25 - 30 on deposit for every 1 bet. So if you bet 20 pp and it goes up 2 points that should increase your margin by another 1 therefore allowing you a bigger bet the next time (and therefore more profit, presumably). If you stay in the same trade all along your margin doesn't increase until you close the trade. I admit I would rather stay in the trade once it is profitable as that would mean less stress trying to pick an entry point for the next trade, if you see what I mean.

i have a credit account with ig so i can keep bets open even when they have temporarily gone the worng way. i should actually leave s&p going and add to it every so often or part close it but instead i close the whole thing because i feel the need to see my balance increase. this once again leaves me back to try and find a good entry point and all teh stress (as you mentioned). however, its not too bad with s&p.

I have traded the s&p before but with 'training stakes' and it was more sedate than the Dow. I think I will give it another try.
The Dow is begining to scare me today! I'm still long!

mornin' everyone.
looking forward to another good day today. greenspan talking which nearly always pulls the dow down before it goes up again (unless he has hit us all with a hard blow). got a long and a short going from last week and will look to close down position once he stops talking if everything to plan.

Snoball,
The FTSE up/down/UNCH is a variation of the popular binary bets, except it has a third outcome - unchanged which makes up 50. If it is down, you get 0 and if it is up now you get 100.
The quote now with the ftse being down 15 points would probably be 10-14 so basically i am going to buy. If the Ftse finish up i would get 86x my stake, but would lose 14x my stake if it was to finish down (doesn't matter by how much)
so the good thing is you know the downside of the bet everytime. of course, if it went up 10 points now, the quote would go up to say 39-43 and i could close out for a 25 point profit.
They do the same for the DOW as well, and the S+P and Nasdaq.
if you do open an account mention me and i get a free bottle of champagne!!!
only joking - not that desperate. hate the stuff!!

oh by the Way, Spreadex sent me a weekly calendar, which is useful. i could forward it on if anyone wanted a peek.
it's quite useful, - wednesday/friday seem to be the main days with the rate announcement on Wed, and GDP/confidence figures released on Friday.
must admit - have a fins account but tend not to use it.
so far so good - i think you were wrong Zarif!!!

What i meant by spreadex was that it was mickey mouse in terms of online trading -if you can do it by phone and then monitor on screen then its alright-also when u have succesfully placed so many trades they send you a bottle of bubbly -if you introduce a friend you get a dvd player etc. I do use them for long term trades and just leave it open when in my direction and good profit. They are also good as allocate u a credit account withou fuss. Only down side is that they used to do 1 stakes and you could have a very wide position in the market. Now i think it is 2 min stake. Also you cant close position on the screen.
Anyway guys u all watching the dow bobbing up and down - I have got a long on from last week and am looking at the moment for opps. I have got a short on USD/CAD which is looking good.
trade safely and wisely

what an excellent day on teh dow so far. well i guess that only holds true to people who are long at the moment. i got a short going as well and expect a drop sometime this week if not today.
on the otehr hand, retail decisions (RTD) - i have mentioned on here before as a big buy has just added to my profits again today. every single day for the last week actually. if you guys havent looked at it already, then do so. very good potential with this company and results are looking good for march. niche market too. a great buy. plenty more upside with this stock.
lets hope we all have a good dow day today.

javidshaik,
i followed up on RTD but can't trade them with Fins unfortunately. At least not online. Maybe I should give them a call.

snoball,
sorry, i should have made it clear it is an investment as opposed to spreadbetting.
i bought shares in this company and it has been extremely successful in the last few weeks. plenty more upside for this stock to go in my opinion.
if your still interested then check out nitefly RTD thread on here.
