Not really 'news' - Robin van Persie: Man Utd agree £24m deal with Arsenal for striker

Manchester United have agreed a £24m deal to sign Arsenal striker Robin van Persie on a four-year contract.

The 29-year-old will meet with United in the next 48 hours to discuss personal terms and have a medical.

Arsenal captain Van Persie announced in July he would not extend his current deal, which expires in June 2013.

Well, England won.....again.....picking up some more impressive "brownie" points for the Fifa ratings ...were still missing some good midfielders.....I've always thought that Rooney should play in a midfield role with Carroll and perhaps Defoe just ahead......what we need is a lot of very sharp midfield short passes...it won't matter if they lose the ball as long as they remain ultrea sharp and get it back a few seconds later.....that is the way to play....the long ball down the side will only work at times....variation of play is what is needed !...

Carroll is a donkey that you bring on for the last 10 minutes if your losing and desperate imo rf.

Hey Dil what's this about Brian Flynn leaving the Welsh FA, conflicting reports about his contract coming to an end or he is contesting for wrongful dismissal?

Dunno but in fairness he hasn't done a lot and nor will Coleman for the senior team , all Speed's good work undone in 3 games by Coleman.

Middlesbough away, won their last season for the first time ever I think, saw them at Port vale last week and won easily but PV were pants though!

Anyone away in this league is going to be tough. Most competitive I can ever remember this league with at least 14 teams in with a very realistic chance of finishing top 6 and at least 2 of the other 10 will probably suprise everyone.

We gonna win it though :-)

Certainly some bigger clubs in there this season, had high hopes for this season but fear to many good players with injury history in our squad.. but you never know.

Got £25 on Chelsea tonight......not had much luck on the football front as of late.....never bet on friendlies before the full season kicks off......
