i think so too ..... hope sp's attempted resilience proves to be just a dam of sand

ptholden - 09 Jul 2007 21:11 - 1236 of 3050

Good evening Cynic dear chap, you seem to have been stirring up trouble on the SEO thread, shame on you :)

Here's your SOLA chart. As expected the SP has broken the uptrend support established from April, although I wouldn't say it is quite conclusive just yet. It also appears to be slipping down the downtrend, again as expected (I'm pleased to say- lends a bit of credibilty to my TA). I think what we should see now is a continued slide towards 480p where the SP will meet the long term uptrend. If this gives up the ghost I have drawn a steeper third downtrend line which again the SP may hug (downwards). If this happens we are certainly into new territory and possibly some dramatic moves. I have considered this business of doubling the shares in issue, which dependant on the ratinale and fundamentals behind such a decision could halve the SP and might be thought of as a 'dramatic move'!! All speculation of course.

Oh and the MACD continues to appoach the negative centreline crossover and the RSI support is certainly broken.

moi stirring up trouble? ..... never! .... not my nature .... lol!
if some find the pretty obvious (well i think it is!) hard to digest when presented to them on a plate, then perhaps they should buy shares in whatever pharma company makes dyspepsia antidotes

goldfinger - 13 Jul 2007 01:20 - 1238 of 3050

I see the suckers across the road have had a big conversation on what the upcoming AGM will feature.

Top of the bill they think is a stock listing in the US and they think that would be great for investors.

I say they should think again as we all know here if that were to happen the number of shares in issue would be doubled or more resulting in a 50% plus drop in EPS after the dilution.

With the stock trading on a rolling P/E of 50 plus now that would be a real disaster. Throw in the increased tax charge and the fact that the director lock ins are transpiring and you would have a stock trading on a P/E of 100 plus which could not be justified.

We also still have to wait for prove that this company can generate net cash inwards on its operations and the debtor days standing at 80 give cause for concern.

I wish holders the best of luck, they will need it.

Alleyne - 13 Jul 2007 15:12 - 1239 of 3050

You chartists aren't much cop are you. Back to primary school for you, lads.

ptholden - 13 Jul 2007 15:18 - 1240 of 3050

Err, I think you will find that the SP did fall away since the shorting began, the fact a small recovery has taken place is neither here nor there. SOLA remains in a downtrend and needs to break back through 550p ish before that scenario changes. I wouldn't go braying just yet laddie!

Alleyne - 13 Jul 2007 15:25 - 1241 of 3050

I'm not your laddie , patronising twat. Your charting is all bollocks.

Greyhound - 13 Jul 2007 15:26 - 1242 of 3050

It's not at all. I remain short too for the time being. Nothing rises in a straight line; the reverse is also true.

You chartists aren't much cop are you. Back to primary school for you, lads.

And that wasn't patronising? F%*^ing hypocrite, get back to the playgorund laddie, come back when you have grown up a bit.

goldfinger - 13 Jul 2007 15:32 - 1244 of 3050

All the longs I hear patting themselves on the back over the road.

Mug punters all I can say.

Dilution usually murders a share for a lengthy period.

If this one halves its EPS, itl be some time and more before it would recover.

Alleyne - 13 Jul 2007 15:45 - 1245 of 3050

I'm not your laddie either holden. Get your head out of your arse then you can go screw yourself more easily. You chartists couldn't chart a huge chart with asign on it saying THIS IS A BIG CHART. You talk utter balls constantly.

ptholden - 13 Jul 2007 15:50 - 1246 of 3050

Oh the little laddie is throwing a little tantrum, lol, can't find your dummy? Poor little boy :)) there there then

Updated TA

cynic - 14 Jul 2007 09:11 - 1248 of 3050

PT - Alleyne, like 10B, is worth avoiding .... his only saving grace is that his rather personal attacks take up less page space.

it is a common misconception, that investors who make use of charts (of which there are many varieties), are stupid enough to think they are the Holy Grail, which of course they are not, though they are very useful tool ....... nevertheless it takes a narrow-minded bigot (none spring immediately to mind!) to refuse to accept that charts and market/share movements are inextricably linked, not least because so many PI investment decisions and computer trading programmes are (effectively) based on or triggered by them ...... thus, whether illogical or not, charts are frequently self-fulfilling.

as an openly admitted shorter of SOLA, I shall be watching the share movements carefully, as recommended by you (PT) ...... i confess i had hoped or even expected sp to fall quite sharply, not least because investors are moving into the newly-arrived rival PVCS (had a very good write-up in this morning's Telegraph) ....... however, SOLA sp has stayed (remarkably) steady, so just maybe a recovery could be staged - nous verrons

kitosdad - 14 Jul 2007 10:48 - 1249 of 3050

" so just maybe a recovery could be staged " LOL. Cyn, you sound as though you are writing about SEO, not SOLA.
These people work a 24 hour day, refining, improving, sourcing, producing, and most importantly, selling. Excellent forward-thinking management, and a loyal bond with customers and suppliers. There is no way that this can go down.World leader within 12 months.

ps. Hows your short going.? At least you are up-front about it.

cynic - 14 Jul 2007 10:58 - 1250 of 3050

i shorted at 530, so self-apparent ..... "There is no way that this can go down" is surely a foolishly rash statement as even you must admit .... whether or not SOLA will be a "world leader within 12 months" is actually irrelevant, for even if true, and i have no view or even care, sp's never travel in straight lines either up or down ..... i am short, not because i totally disagree with your view, but because i feel, or certainly felt, that the current impetus and direction was looking south rather than north.

by the way, recovery of course referred to sp and has/had nothing to do with the company's prospects, real or imagined.

kitosdad - 14 Jul 2007 12:10 - 1251 of 3050

Well put Cyc. No offence or assumptions taken. Wish you well, as ever.

cynic - 14 Jul 2007 12:33 - 1252 of 3050

never take offense even with the dreaded 10B or Alleyne or even the late and unlamented and hanged-drawn-and-quartered tcdmct!

ptholden - 14 Jul 2007 19:34 - 1253 of 3050

Cynic

Can't say I am bothered about a few idiotic comments (I was reading in the Times last week that an Idioit has an IQ in the region of 2). I'm more than happy for other posters to slate my TA as long as it's done in a constructive way with a well presented counter argument. Can't stand these idiots (IQ of 2) who are unable to build in a rational sense their own case. In any event the TA was proven right to a degree and was in profit, shame it didn't hit the target of 480p but time yet.
