Well it certainly looks like 100% dilution could be on the cards if we are to believe the CEO of sola and I dont doubt him in todays telegraph.

Some will say yes OK EPS have halved and the P/E is sky high but it depends where and how quickley they get a return on the investment.

My thoughts after the last two profit warnings, one for the wire saws productivity not being what it should have been and the shortfall in production in the last quarter point to a long and lengthy capacity ramp up, throw in the deplorable fundies and you have what could be a disaster on the cards.

Heres what the CEO had to say...

The full article from today's Daily Telegraph is pasted below:-

Charles Bai, ReneSola

Charles Bai, 46, is chief financial officer of ReneSola, a Chinese company that turns scrap silicon into wafers for use in solar panels. He has worked for more than 17 years in investment banks, including for RBC Dominion Securities in Canada where he helped float Chinese companies.
After moving to Asia in 1995, Mr Bai worked for Deutsche Bank as an associate director, was finance director at Ogden Energy, vice-president at Tractebel and chief financial officer at Fenet Software. He talks about the silicon industry and working abroad.

Q How are silicon materials recycled for solar panel use?
A We use scrap silicon materials which are primarily from the semi-conductor industry. We recycle them by putting them into a furnace, which takes one-and-a-half days. The melted liquid is put into a crucible and then into a cooling zone. It becomes a solid called an "ingot" and is then cut by a slicing machine into wafers.

Q Besides solar panels, are they used for anything else?
A Historically they were used for construction, to solidify concrete. But this is minimised now as it is very expensive.

Q What's the most challenging country to work in?
A Thailand, as English is not widely spoken so you have to use your hands to express yourself! The cab drivers do not speak English often - I once had to call my secretary and get her to speak to the driver to give him directions.

Q How do Chinese and UK investment attitudes differ?
A The Chinese have more of an entrepreneurial spirit. They move very quickly when they see an opportunity. I have worked for multinationals before and they have to go through a process and hierarchies.

Q Is the attitude towards Aim Chinese companies unfair?
A To a certain extent, it is. For example, a few months after we floated I got an email from some people in the UK asking to put up a photo of the business on the website to get a feel of our operation.
I said: "Sure, if it helps you understand." Then I got a further email wanting a video camera, showing the business 24 hours a day. I didn't agree with this. If people don't trust Chinese companies like us, they should trust the professionals in London such as the lawyers and the accountants who do due diligence.

Q Shouldn't a 550m company like ReneSola move to the Main Market?
A We are evaluating different options. We feel a company of our size probably should be looking for an alternative, like a dual listing, at least initially. We are looking at the main board listing, as well as listing in the US or even Hong Kong. But not China, as it takes quite a long time to get our return.

Q Name a surprising thing about being a quoted company?
A One thing I did not expect was the phone calls from fund managers and private investors. Some people do not realise I am based in China and I get calls every night.

Q What do you do to unwind outside work?
A I always have time for photography. I love landscapes and I put my pictures on a semi- professional website in China.

Give it a rest GF. You are really becoming a bloody bore here. Get a life and go and short FEP to get your hand in before you short SOLA.

ps. " could " be on the cards.? Thought it was definite, in your humble opinion. Not getting the wind-up are we.?

cynic - 23 Jul 2007 14:39 - 1266 of 3050

don't be horrid (lol!)!! ...... i too am still running my short here at 530 ...... the jury is still out as to whether or not that is a smart move, as sp seems disinclined to move in any direction

Greyhound - 23 Jul 2007 15:03 - 1267 of 3050

still short too cynic. Have contemplated closing but at the moment looking at the volume throughout July we've seen larger volume on the falls and in the latter part of the month to date small volume on the rises. Happy to maintain position for time being but if I decide to close on stronger upward moves, so be it - 3 out of 4 times getting it right is fine for me. I'm not overly pessimistic, neither would I turn bullish at this stage.... today's rise being sold into so far (but still small summer volume). Dare I suggest, no matter if people are long or short, it's becoming a little dull for the moment.

cynic - 23 Jul 2007 16:29 - 1268 of 3050

my view is that if dull and little trade then sp much more likely to fall than rise

goldfinger - 23 Jul 2007 17:04 - 1269 of 3050

Kitos, youve got the wrong board, you should be posting here.....

cynic - 23 Jul 2007 17:16 - 1270 of 3050

please don't start children .... we have enough recent probs with the likes of 10B and tcdmct

kitosdad - 23 Jul 2007 17:56 - 1271 of 3050

" usually posted by nutters after midnight. ".......

But as I recall Slater, that's when you do most of your posts. LOL.

You really are like a mongrel with a bone Slater, but I think you will find this one will bite you in the arse. Get your short ready, we are approaching 588p next week.

Do you own ANY shares at all, in any company.?

Alleyne - 23 Jul 2007 20:30 - 1272 of 3050

hey cinyc, can't discuss anything without an insult can you. You sound nervous with all the talking us through your individual trades and holdings. Here's a newsflash for you. No-one's interested in your trades and holdings or your views on where the market's going. This is a SOLA thread. Speakers' Corner is more your sort of place. LOLs

HARRYCAT - 23 Jul 2007 21:00 - 1273 of 3050

So you assume everyone is interested in what you think, Alleyne.
Groan..........What gives you the right to speak for everyone else? We can speak for ourselves thank you. Put your point & move on.

cynic - 23 Jul 2007 22:29 - 1274 of 3050

don't fret harry, for i do not ..... so many (or is it just a few who make the noise of many?) complain that X,Y or Z only talk about certain holdings etc that i actually make a point of posting virtually all my dealings ..... apparently certain people would seem to take exception to that too! ..... imo, their prob, not mine

maggiebt4 - 23 Jul 2007 23:48 - 1275 of 3050

Alleyne, I'm interested in what most people have to say provided it's constructive. I thought that's what the boards are for!

goldfinger - 24 Jul 2007 00:36 - 1276 of 3050

Sola didnt respond very well today on the news of this secondary listing.

It appears that one or two of the puffers* (who I have been informed talk all day about someones manhood on the advfn thread)have caught on about this dilutive effect, on their holding.

* Im well known for being a poor speller, should their be a t after the second f ?.

kitosdad - 24 Jul 2007 07:00 - 1277 of 3050

YOU of all people should know that Slate.!!! LOL.

goldfinger - 24 Jul 2007 10:27 - 1278 of 3050

In the red again, mind on very low volume which doesnt mean one thing or tuther.

AGM this thursday. No doubt the puffers are all getting ready for good news, but whats that stock market saying..... profit warnings come in 3s.

cynic - 24 Jul 2007 10:35 - 1279 of 3050

GF .... though i am a fellow shorter, there really is no need to keep chuntering on about how sp is going to fall ...... when it does, you can say "told you so", and if it goes the other way, you can say "whoops! called that one wrong" ...... meanwhile, sei stumm!

kitosdad - 24 Jul 2007 11:26 - 1280 of 3050

Cyn, GF doesn't have anything better to do other than to knock SOLA.
Let him play.
Wouldn't be half as bad if he had the bottle to take a position in SOLA, one way or the other.
Never mind, we will just have to put up with his foaming, which incidentally, got him banned for the very same thing on ADVFN, on the same topic too. LOL.

goldfinger - 24 Jul 2007 13:23 - 1281 of 3050

Just to put things straight never ever been banned from advfn.

Cynic Ive as much right as the next man to air my views on a stock.

Some chose to post when RNS , news etc, is released, I like to keep in touch with the stocks im interested in on a daily basis. its up to the individual and we all have differing posting styles.

It would be nice for a change though if the Bulls who support sola rather than just slagging off the other sides point of view put up some kind of credible defence.

What weve seen so far points to the fact that they dont have one, or are most of them lemmings like Ive suspected for a long while.

cynic - 24 Jul 2007 13:38 - 1282 of 3050

gf .... no one questions your right to post, but by golly, you do get awfully repetitive as did 10B ..... for myself, everyone knows i am short here and at what price and with what target i have in mind ...... i don't need to keep repeating ad nauseam ...... and nor
do you

Greyhound - 24 Jul 2007 14:47 - 1283 of 3050

Testing 508p which represents the 38.2% Fibonacci level. If it breaks here, 476p is the 23.6% level.
