Mediwatch - Watch them rocket in 2005 !!! (MDW)

Mediwatch is a small company destined to become a much bigger fish by the time this year is out. Mediwatch are already a market leader in urological medical diagnostics equipement and are currently exporting their products throughout the UK, Canada, Europe, India and Japan. That doesn't leave much of the globe left for them to capture - until you remember the good ol' US and China. These are the two massive markets which are destined to be added to MDW's export client portfolio by the end of 2005.

The company is currently heavily undervalued. This is probably because Mediwatch's speciality is not a very glamourous business to be in as their equipment is used extensively to diagnose prostate cancer in men and other nasty urological conditions affecting both men and women. However, don't let that put you off investing in these guys. This is big business and is growing at an exponential rate as more and more people globally become health-aware as they get older.

Mediwatch normally supply their products through to global markets via distribution agreements. They already have the best of distribution partners in the well known US medical distributor CR Bard who supply Canada and Europe and GE Medical who supply Japan. The UK business is handled by Mediwatch's own dedicated sales team.

US FDA approval was gained for MDW's products at the start of last year, however a whole year of US legal wrangling meant that they were unable to seek a suitable partner for the crucial distribution agreement until the start of this year. This distribution agreement is expected by the board to have a "significant effect" on the share price so they are reluctant to give any clues as to when it will be signed, sealed and delivered. The general consensus is that this US distribution agreement will be announced in July/August. In China and Hong Kong, MDW have done things the other way round. They have set up distribution agreements with major Asian medical equipment distributors and have stock already out there waiting to sell into the markets - all they are waiting for is SDA approval (which is a "rubber stamp") from the Chinese authorities - this can take anything up to 12 months to come through and MDW applied during Autumn 2004 - so even more good news coming soon this year. Epidemiological data from British Association of Urology conference last year: On average 30-45% of all men between the age of 50 and 70 have at least one PSA test per year in the US / Italy / Australia.

If that's not enough to convince you to invest a few hard earned coppers in MDW, they are also developing a PSA stick test product (PSAWatch) which is revolutionary and causing some excitement in medical circles. This product can also be adapted (at very low cost) for a whole spectrum of medical disciplines from Cardiology to Veterinary Practice! This product is likely to be released in the next few weeks. Philip Stimpson the CEO has said that this product is going to be their "gold mine" - I'm sure it will prove to be ours too.

Interestingly, it recovered slightly after the initial fall today.

sorry facts still remain...it still looses 1M per year....it is now seeing price pressure from Asia, no one can tell me what the value of what they have bought is.

and listen the biggest thing here is.....i have followed this for three years and they still cannot manage to turnover more than circa 1M per year...no offence but i run a sales team...if one of my salespeople (and I mean only one perosn not a company) could not at least do 1M in at least one of out of three years ......i would say they never will (and our margins aint as low as MDW's).........go figure....

So before the MDT purchase they had ground breaking technology which actually no one ever bought however it was the future and would make them millions.

Now it is the MDT stuff that will make them millions...if so why did a large company part with it for buttons.....ermmmmm i could not justify it if i were the CD of MDT.....or lets guess...it is about as much commercial use as a piss scanner that can only net 1M per year

so I will sell bags of my piss for 10p each and in a few years lets see who has most cash me or MDW

anyway after my recent DVS disaster I am shutting up!

good luck with it...my thoughts are plain but 50% of my long term investment pot went on DVS... would not like that to happen to anyone and you have no idea how much info I had about them directly so I am now the most cynical Scottish bag of piss sales man in the UK :-)

Just having a quick look at the above chart:

In 2004 when PSAwatch was appearing to take longer than originally thought along with share fundraising the SP took a dive.

2005 saw positive announcements regarding PSAwatch within the medical community and the Medtronic name started to show it's face

In 2006,I think the Medtronic deal and lack of info relating to it caused the slide.

Now,in 2007 everything is falling into place,PSAwatch will be getting CE approval in February and FDA approval in the summer of this year.

The long talked about Medtronic deal has been completed and has started to bring in extra revenue already and most importantly given MDW a wider distribution network.

From the Results:

"The Directors expect that there will continue to be an improving trading
performance in the current year following the acquisition of the Medtronic
Urodynamics business, the establishment of the US sales, service and marketing
operation coupled with the on-going development programme and marketing of new
products.


International Distribution Agreement with T-DOC

On 22 January, 2007, we announced that we had entered into a distribution
agreement with US based T-DOC. Under the agreement which covers USA, Canada and the EU, Mediwatch will be distributing the T-DOC range of disposable,
pressure-sensing, air charged catheters. These pressure sensing catheters are
key to performing diagnostic procedures with the new range of urodynamic
equipment recently from Medtronic Inc. and this relationship is a significant
step forward for our new urodynamics business.

Considerable, recurring sales of these disposable catheters in excess of US$3.0
million per annum have already been established by Medtronic over the last three
years. Looking ahead, we believe that the distribution of disposable catheters
will provide Mediwatch with a recurring income stream from within an established
market, whilst also strengthening our urodynamics business.


Strengthening our US presence

Since completing the Medtronic acquisition, we have established an
American-based sales, service and marketing operation to support our urology
diagnostic and consumable products business within this Continental region
including the recently announced International distribution agreement with
T-DOC. Our Florida based facility will be fully operational in February 2007 and
will employ 10 staff, some of whom have joined from Medtronic's Urology
Diagnostic Division.

Yes,MDW have taken their time in getting their shop in order or have they?

Compared to three or four years ago when MDW started off with a plan which looks like it is coming to fruition through 2007/2008 for the investor,I think it's gone very well.

Yes,that was only one website but the fact that key MDT products are now branded as MDW products is a major major step forward in showing off the companies new strong hold in the Urology market place-imo.

MDW will no doubt have a few teething problems over the next few months but with PSAwatch achieving approval status in both CE and FDA this year and along with the soon to be announced research note,then this will compensate any short term problems that they may have or don't have.

All great news.

Evening all,
It has been quite rightly pointed out that there are two main positives expected for this month and they are

1. CE approval of PSAwatch.

2. The research note.

Oh,there might be a another

3. A new shopfront ie web page (keep TT2 happy)


There is also another major and a landmark for MDW and that is

This is a WILL be fully operational in February 2007 and not a might be/intended or planned!

So,we have a UK company namely Mediwatch (MDW) now taking over a world leader in health care's Urology section (or part off) namely Medtronic (MDT)!

This could be the icing on the cake as far as media attention/investors from all over the world takes a hold.It will be interesting to see the perception given to the company as the new Florida based site builds up in the market place along with points 1 and 2 above.

My own view is that points 1 and 4,unless the Research note is outstanding,will show the way this company is heading and this will be reflected in the SP.

Just me idle thoughts but looks very good to me!

PS The reason MDT have agreed the Urology deal with MDW is that they (MDT) are refining there health sectors and Urology for them is not a massive money spinner in their eyes,remember MDT's major profits are from the cardiac sector and a couple of others (a bit late to find out-lol).MDT and MDW have worked together for a number of years on many things including various boards for NHS and other panels,they are good friends.In me ever so humbly opinion.
