Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

PW Carnell,

thank you :)

Our load has increased massively over the last few months which is why things have unfortunately been felt in terms of system responsivness, ive setup a few more servers which will be going in place either this morning or tomorrow morning which should deal with anticipated future load.

Are there 2 of you JT? - exactly the same message, but 17 mins apart.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 17 Nov 2003 09:45 - 1376 of 7315

BrianTrayda,

Yes, there are two of me, do you think I could watch the site 24/7 just by myself? :)

BrianTrayda - 17 Nov 2003 09:50 - 1377 of 7315

:-) Thought Bully helped you during the night shift...

TJ(MAM)

One of you is 17 mins out of sync. Does one of you live in a parallel universe? Have you got you on a string?

I'm up with and into the latest stuff on this all thanks to 'The Theory of Everything' on Sunday night's TV. ;-)

Just had to login again... Is that AM or me?
And Thread loading is like treacle...

BrianTrayda,

Tis you...

Yep, it's one of BT's core routers going slow...
194.72.31.41 core1-pos12-3.bletchley.ukcore.bt.net

Thx JT.

BrianTrayda,

:(

all: You may have noticed the 'link' box below the 'post reply' box. idea is simple, put either the URL to an image (which is already online), or the url to a webpage, and then click the appropriate button and the correct HTML will be inserted into the post box.

I would never have guessed :-)

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 18 Nov 2003 20:56 - 1384 of 7315

Kayak,

Bully asked how it worked, so maybe it was worth spelling out ;)

Any other markup types anybody would like to have buttons for? It can be as flexible as I can work out the javascript for (im a sysadmin remember, not a coder :D)

JT, just had an idea. We are all aware of the rifts that sometimes appear on BB's which are normally caused by the narrow communication means available on a BB. Most folks are aware of the smileys, but how about btns to show happy/sad characters.
The html to do this:
J
L
&ltfont FACE="wingdings" size=5&gt&amp#0074&lt/font&gt
&ltfont FACE="wingdings" size=5&gt&amp#0076&lt/font&gt
Or you could go one step more and store a bunch of smiley gifs on your servers and do image links to them.

Kayak - 18 Nov 2003 21:54 - 1386 of 7315

Or more simply, for &amp#0074 use "J" and for &amp#0076 use "L".

Yes, a bunch of smiley gifs with links to them would be brilliant.

Also you could ask Croc nicely if you could nick the HTML editor in his trading thread header and replace the reply box with it!

Kayak - 18 Nov 2003 22:03 - 1387 of 7315

On second thoughts, don't nick that HTML editor since it's full of bugs L

Haystack - 18 Nov 2003 22:11 - 1388 of 7315

A very nice facility. 10/10.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 19 Nov 2003 09:49 - 1389 of 7315

If someone can send me an email with a load of smily gifs (available in the public domain!), then I shall see what I can do for you - no promises tho.

J.

BrianTrayda - 19 Nov 2003 09:55 - 1390 of 7315

End of day JT - I've got links to such public stuff. I'll email them direct to you.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 19 Nov 2003 09:57 - 1391 of 7315

BrianTrayda,

ta muchly.

The error message given when a thread has been deleted could be tidier...
