VANE MINERALS, A Cheaper And Lower Risk Route Into The Uranium Market. (VML)

goldfinger - 08 Mar 2005 09:20

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE..

COMPANY WEB SITE.........

http://www.vaneminerals.com/

THE PRICE OF URANIUM IS GOING BALISTIC...

The uranium spot price hasn't seen a down month since 2001. For years now, uranium producers have met just 60% of total annual demand - the other 40% coming from government stockpiles and decommissioned nuclear warheads. This can go on for only so long.

The tightness of supply comes at a time of atomic resurgence. Three large-scale factors have turned the tide in favour of nuclear energy:
geopolitics, global warming and developing world growth.

Analysts are debating over wether the SP of Uranium increase will be three fold within 2007?.

Looks like to me, the best play on the UK market for Uranium and it hasnt gotten away yet like the other two ZBA Zareba and URA Uranium which have multi bagged. Its also in a position to fund its development with a new gold mine producing. Ive added twice this morning and think this one could be very big. Heres the announcement...........

Vane Minerals PLC
07 March 2005

VANE Minerals plc (AIM: VML)

VANE Announces Diversification Into Uranium Exploration And Development

Vane Minerals ('VANE' or 'the Company') announces that it is diversifying its
current project portfolio by entering into the uranium exploration and
development business.

To date 7 uranium targets have been successfully claimed by the Company and 28
further properties have been identified and are under development. VANE expects
to finalise its property position by the end of the first quarter 2005. The
Company is targeting uranium projects that are either at, or near, resource
stage or targets that exhibit similar surface features to mines with past
production, but that have not yet been evaluated for the presence of uranium.

The 35 properties identified are located within a uranium district with
significant past production as well as significant resources. Due to the
current uranium market conditions, we prefer to not identify the location until
we complete our property position. Previous drilling data available for some of
the 7 properties successfully claimed indicate grade intersects from 0.34 up to
1.78% U3O8.

VANE has incorporated a 100% owned subsidiary to hold its uranium properties and
has also successfully recruited a uranium geologist, Kristopher K. Hefton B.Sc.,
who has considerable experience in this field and is a great addition to the
VANE team. Mr. Hefton has worked with VANE's exploration team in the past during
his time at Freeport McMoran, and he has also worked for Barrick Gold
Corporation, Homestake Mining Company and Energy Fuels Nuclear Inc.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, commented, 'We are delighted to announce the
addition of these uranium assets to the VANE portfolio and will update the
market with more substantial details once further properties have been claimed.
The uranium market has been strong for some time now, reflecting a long-term
forecast supply shortage and the growing recognition that nuclear energy offers
a cleaner and more energy efficient fuel source. Through our extensive network,
we have identified some quality projects and look forward to releasing further
details when appropriate.'

..Amities / l bought a few of these @ 12p and 14p as a 1/2 year investment ; and as always, bowing to my trading instincts played the percentages and sold the heavily leveraged lot @ 22p . To all intents and purposes that seems a nice trade. But considering the global need for uranium and the fact that Geiger couldnt get stock in open trading, and neccassitated a placement , that trade was a premature move, and after a lot much research i desperately want "back in " . Watching the s/p fall this past week has given everyone a second bite on the "trading " cherry .. Watching these very carefully as i have an obcession in calling where it will bottom out ,,,lf it fell back to below 16/17p i would be amazed but in like a whippet ..lts rather petty as as a med term investment i happen to think s/p will be in 3 digits anyway ,,vraiment dit-il en sourraint ...Bonne Chance a' tous vous, Faires attention .@+ J

Yes. Thanking both Goldfinger and Driver. Not only was the interview with head wallah @ Vane interesting- was impressed by company being cash generative with.low gearing -- but of equal interest was the remarkably frank chilling views of the U308 trader- James Dines . When he stated its either U308 or sitting in the dark he sounded pretty convincing to me . . .. Reg: VML ....How much froth do you, or anyone/everyone think is in current s/p considering it was 8p quite recently.?......@+ J.. Also Oz and Cananda seem the places to invest

hlyeo98 - 26 Feb 2007 10:27 - 1388 of 2220

Up 2.75p now

cynic - 26 Feb 2007 10:28 - 1389 of 2220

think i may have missed the boat ... was looking to buy this morning but got distracted ..... never mind

goldfinger - 26 Feb 2007 11:35 - 1390 of 2220

Lovely move up.

The French Connection.. NAV and prospective NAV will drive the stock forward in the future underpinned by cash from the Gold Mine.

Charts dont show underlying value, therefore as long as drilling success continues we should be in for a lucrative ride.

hlyeo98 - 26 Feb 2007 11:36 - 1391 of 2220

You have not missed the boat, cynic. VNL still relatively cheap. BUY at 24p.

goldfinger - 26 Feb 2007 11:39 - 1392 of 2220

Yes Id agree with that.

A lot of these Uranium plays will go tits up, but the big thing Vane as going for it is the alliance with geiger C and the profitable and cash generating gold assets.

cynic - 26 Feb 2007 11:42 - 1393 of 2220

98 ..... would you also plump for VML against UMN?

hlyeo98 - 26 Feb 2007 11:48 - 1394 of 2220

of course.

TheFrenchConnection - 26 Feb 2007 13:05 - 1395 of 2220

So much for my hope for furthur retracenent ,,,hehe ... Saw the early trend for today with mms all seemingly buying but none selling . ln @ a tad shy of 23p . l have a very positive feeling from this one . . MMs desperately short of stock !!!....@+..J ...

driver - 26 Feb 2007 16:47 - 1396 of 2220

Nice bounce today welcome back TFC

cynic
If youre not in yet, get on board this is only going one way, should test the new high tomorrow.

cynic - 26 Feb 2007 16:53 - 1397 of 2220

thought about later in the day (today), but decided against as i have been taking money off the table as opposed to adding more to the portfolio ..... nothing huge; just KAZ and 50% of DOM ..... cannot believe that FTSE is not now seriously overdue for at least a couple of days of correction (a good flogging indeed!).

fliper - 26 Feb 2007 17:33 - 1398 of 2220

Cynic , what does the chart show ?

cynic - 26 Feb 2007 17:46 - 1399 of 2220

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=VML&Si

red = 50 dma
green = 200 dma

fantastic break out, BUT i suspect it is having difficulty getting past the psychologivcal barrier of the all time high just below 24 (mentioned it previously ..... rsi is also arguably a but toppy.

more to the point ...... what is actually driving the sp higher other than record uranium oxide prices? ..... put another way, has VML pulled off some stunning deal that has pushed or will continue to push the price higher?

TheFrenchConnection - 26 Feb 2007 17:59 - 1400 of 2220

sssshhh ! Awww dont tell everyone Cynic....hehe l share your sentiments reg, FTSE 100 which looks fully priced and due for some revision. What with most stocks in that index with p/e ratios nearer 20 than 10 iminent furthur growth looks very limited. FTSE 350 also seems overbought and being overweight with oilers is most volatile...As in all mature bull markets attention has now turned to small/micro caps, and in AlM 100 there are some very attractive stocks with VML being one of the best of the lot ....hopefully many sky blue days ahead ,,,,b/chance ...amusez-vous bien ..@+ J

TheFrenchConnection - 26 Feb 2007 18:13 - 1401 of 2220

As for its s/p. l feel that a company which is ALREADY cash generative ; and able to finance its MAIN mining programme reg U308 from other ongoing gold opps rather than resort to the usual mining practice of returning to the city with their begging bowls is a refreshing sight; and will stand VML in good stead for the future . ..,,...And what with geiger, an investment vechicle for uranium , stashing away almost 150 k s worth is surely an endorsement for a stock in VERY short supply .......24p is not much of a hurdle in my eyes ...@+ J
